Vodafone presents hardware highlights at CeBIT New tablets and smartphones for networked mobile working

Up to 100 mbps in Vodafone’s extensive LTE network

Düsseldorf/Hanover/CeBIT, March 2013 – Vodafone has extended its hardware portfolio with new smartphones and tablets in the run up to CeBIT. The Düsseldorf-based communications group will be presenting flagship Android smartphones by Sony and HTC, plus the new Blackberry and smartphones with Windows Phone 8 operating systems by Samsung and Nokia. Two Windows 8 tablets with docking keyboards for full netbook functionality offer mobile workers even more flexibility. At the world’s leading ITC trade show in Hanover, Vodafone will be demonstrating how the latest hardware can be put to optimal use with 4G LTE and innovative Microsoft Office 365 software. Mobility is a trend that is here to stay - for both consumers and businesses - putting greater demands on mobile data network and hardware performance. Vodafone’s systematic network upgrade for LTE broadband services, plus the latest smartphones and tablets, provide consumers with access to mobile broadband technology anywhere and anytime. LTE smartphones for high-speed networking The Vodafone LTE network delivers net bit rates of up to 100 mbps and is ideal for high speed data exchange, cloud computing and multimedia networking. Vodafone has extended its LTE smartphone portfolio to include four new models. The new HTC One has a 4.7 inch full HD screen. Inside, the phone has a 1.7 GHz quad core processor and ultra-pixel camera technology, which captures more light than normal smartphone cameras for optimum productivity and multimediality. The new Sense 5.0 user interface has an augmented intuitive design. A feature called HTC BlinkFeed™ threads updates from social networks of the user’s choosing together into one interface. The new HTC flagship phone will be available from Vodafone in mid-March. In conjunction with a RED contract, Vodafone customers can get this smartphone for EUR 49.90. Sony’s Xperia Z also features a full HD touchscreen. The acclaimed Sony Bravia Engine with contrast optimisation delivers an even more colour intensive viewing experience - of photos shot with the integrated 13 megapixel camera, for example. The smartphone is protected by a waterproof mineral glass and aluminium casing. It also has a quad core processor, which is perfect for mobile working in the Vodafone LTE network. With a Vodafone RED tariff, the Xperia flagship model is available for EUR 49.90. The Blackberry Z10 is the first smartphone in the Vodafone portfolio to be based on the re-engineered BlackBerry 10 platform. With a high resolution screen, 1.5 GHz dual core processor and a micro HDMI outport, it’s a first-rate smartphone that ticks all the boxes. Blackberry Balance technology makes it possible to separate private and business data on the phone, preventing privately used applications such as Facebook from accessing any business data that is stored on the phone. The smartphone will go on sale this week and costs EUR 49.90 with a RED smartphone tariff.
