Displaced or dislocated workers are defined by the Department of Labor as individuals who have either lost their jobs due to closures or downsizing or may be individuals in need of retraining or cross training situations. In the past five to ten year period the department of labor statistics have identified this group to be in dire need of assistance equally as those in the low income brackets.

Sciences is located at 24 Commerce Street, Federal Trust Building, Suite #510, Newark, New Jersey 07102, The current office space has 5100 Square feet or 14 rooms; including: 1) Lab for student practice and testing, 2) several Lecture classroom(s) with all the necessary medical & clinical equipment for EKG, Phlebotomy and additional courses and 3) Student and Faculty Lounge 4) Fully equipped Computer Lab with more than 24 up-to-date computers & software 5) the Administrative office(s) where all the administrative personnel sits.

Certified Medical Billing & Coding Specialist Program

• This course thoroughly prepares students to code patients’ medical records correctly and optimize reimbursement for a full range of medical services. Students are introduced to several techniques for finding and applying the correct codes in today’s standard coding systems.

• Topics covered include: current procedural terminology, international classification of diseases, clinical modification, healthcare procedure coding system, resource-based relative value scale, insurance form preparation, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Workers’ Compensation, No Fault, HMO’s, diagnosis-related groups, peer review organizations, and ambulatory patient groups.

• The course includes both Manual Billing as well as Computerized Billing utilizing several of the most common software such as Medisoft, Lytec, UB-04, Medical Manager and EHR using Practice Fusion along with an externship {No other school does this !}

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Program

• This program is designed to teach students the skills necessary for employment in the modern medical facility. A qualified medical assistant is capable of performing a wide range of duties, with a variety of technical detail; thus helping the physician in many clinical situations.

• The course includes both Clinical, Administrative and Lab Components with an Externship.

• Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible for National Certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist

• This course covers the usage and management of health information and the electronic health record (EHR). This course introduces students to the use of health information and the electronic health record for any setting within the health care industry from acute, ambulatory, long term, home health, specialty, population health, and personal health that encompass the continuum of care.

• This course provides students with a practical understanding of what an electronic health record specialist is and how important they are in the job market today.

Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist

• Students will learn to assemble the patient’s health record and ensure all information is complete, properly identified and authenticated. EHR Specialist’s duties will vary with size and specialty of the facility in which they may work.

• Many can specialize in varying areas or one aspect of the EHR such as entry-level coders, encoding within a hospital setting, abstractors and or coding specialist, HIPAA Compliance Officers or HIM (Health Information Managers) and be over entire departments within larger healthcare facilities.
