In today’s world we are challenged as we
seek ways to promote vocations. One key
element is prayer. Prayer is at the root of all
vocations. We must change our perception,
our ability to see and be aware of God’s gift
through his Word, to recognize that we are
transformed by our Lord to become who we
are called to be. Pray for new growth in a
time of change.
Please pray for all seminarians.
Your prayers and support make a difference.
Help in creating a culture of vocation.

SUNDAY MAY 24, 2020
V O C A T I O N C O R N E R
As we honor the Mother of
our Lord as the “Queen of
May,” may there be a
greater respect and
appreciation for all women
on earth who
nourish us in
mind, body
and soul.
LITURGICAL MINISTERS
As we work through ways to
accommodate the COVID-19
restrictions while having public
Mass, ministers’ duties may change.
So, for the next few weeks, Deacon
Steve and parish staff will be
scheduling ministers for the
weekend liturgies. Thank you for
your patience as we adjust to the
new requirements.
MASS ATTENDANCE
Bishop McKnight has dispensed us
from the obligation to attend
Sunday Mass until June 30, 2020.
Those who are at risk because of
underlying health issues or are over
60 are strongly encouraged, for
their own health, to avoid the risk of
attending public celebrations of
the Mass.

PARISH NEWS & EVENTS
PARISH SCHOOL AND YO UTH NEWS
PARISH PICNIC Parish leadership is discussing the parish picnic. Given
the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, we definitely
will not be able to have a “normal” picnic, however, we
are planning to have some type of event on Picnic
Sunday, July 12. Although not the same as our parish
picnic, we hope to provide an opportunity for our parish
to serve each other and the community. Please mark
your calendars for this day. Many volunteers will be
needed to help make this event a success. Watch the
bulletin and social media for more information.
PARISH DISASTER RESPONSE TEAM Our parish team has helped obtain and deliver food to
parishioners who are homebound and cannot get to
the store. They have also helped provide baby supplies
to needy families. Homebound parishioners were given
Catholic reading materials and our deacons have
offered spiritual direction and guidance to those
struggling in a variety of ways. Finally, we are also
grateful for the group of parishioners who volunteered to
make calls to check on everyone in our parish
community. Please let the parish office know if you are
in need during this difficult time.
SCHOOL ADVISORY BOARD ELECTIONS An election for two School Advisory Board members will
be held next weekend, May 30-31, at all of the Masses.
Ballots will be also be available outside the parish office.
Ballots must be returned to the parish office by Tuesday,
June 2 at 8am to be considered for the election.
COVID-19 SPIRITUAL ADOPTION If you or your prayer group would like to spiritually adopt
an individual or family within our diocese that has been
affected by the coronavirus, please contact
Erin Boeckmann at [email protected]. Only
first names of those affected by the virus will be shared.
THANK YOU Words cannot express the gratitude we have for
everyone who helped during the services of Pat’s
passing. From attending the visitation, having a part in
the church service, helping at the luncheon or sending
a sympathy card, your generous expression means a lot
and I am forever grateful for our church family. We are
also very grateful to the Knights of Columbus for opening
their hall to our family so we could be together for the
luncheon. Faith and family are everything.
Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart.
~Christine Brauner
CAFETERIA JOB OPENING The cafeteria is in need of a part-time assistant cook.
Please contact Cara Carel at 573-539-0067 or
[email protected] if you are interested in the position
or would like more information.
FOOD ASSISTANCE Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act,
families that qualify for free or reduced price meals at
school may be eligible for a new, one-time Pandemic
Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) of up to $302 per child
(Pre-K through Grade 12) to help cover the cost of meals
students have eaten at home on days that schools have
been closed. If your child was not previously eligible for
free or reduced price meals, but you have now lost
income, you may be eligible to receive P-EBT benefits.
(School families have received an email with information
on the program.) You can apply online at
www.EmergencyMealSurvey.com/MO. To request a
paper application, contact the Food and Nutrition
Services Office at 573-893-3519.
TOTUS TUUS Our parish will be hosting Totus Tuus from July 26th-31st.
Sessions for 3rd-6th grade will be from 9am-12pm.
Sessions for 7th-12th grade will be from 6:30-9:30pm.
This is a summer Catholic youth program dedicated to
sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith
through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness,
and Eucharistic worship. It is a wonderful opportunity to
engage our faith in a fun atmosphere. The evening
program for the upper grades is amazing, so please do
your child a favor and sign them up for it - they will be
glad you did!
Because the program has to be modified to meet the
guidelines for the health and safety of everyone, we will
only be able to have 3rd graders and older this year.
Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis due to a
limited group size. If we have more 3rd-6th graders than
we can accommodate in the morning sessions, there
may be an option for an afternoon session. Registration
forms are in the back of church and on the parish
website. Call the parish office or contact Mark McGuire
at [email protected] if you have questions.
