The A Capella Sensation, Voca People,Return to Houston for One Night Only!Presented by Society for the Performing Arts

HOUSTON (9/14/2015) The a cappella and beat box octet known as Voca People returns to Houston Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m., in the Wortham Centers Cullen Theater, presented by Society for the Performing Arts.

What began as a YouTube sensation has quickly grown into a worldwide phenomenon, filled with performances and a fan base around the world. The Voca People are friendly aliens from the planet Voca, somewhere behind the sun, where all communication is made by music and vocal expressions. Follow their journey back to planet Earth while experiencing an original musical adventure unlike anything you have ever seen before. Full of energy and bursting with comedy and fun, Voca People features more than 80 a cappella and beat box versions of all-time favorite hits including music by Madonna, Michael Jackson and even Mozart! No instruments, no sound effectsjust eight incredible talents breathing life into the greatest music on earth.

Israeli-born Creator, Writer and Director Lior Kalfo began working on the zany idea of Voca People four years before its first rehearsal. Known in Israel for his award-winning comedy series The Comedy Store, Lior envisioned something completely different for this production, mixing classic songs in a capella style with performers dressed in all white. Shai Fishman, the shows composer, arranger and music directoralso from Israelquickly joined Lior in his efforts to bring Voca People into a reality. Fishman, famous for composing and producing original scores for all films at NASA and the Houston Museum of Natural Science, became half of the amazing duo needed for Voca People to thrive.
