A MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT
Get ready for RibFest on Sept 14th! It sounds like Kelly Jones and her team have another great event planned. A full rib dinner is available for purchase along with the chance to sample ribs from the RibFest competitors.
I’m sure there are still opportunities to volunteer for this event, so please contact Kelly at 279-1243, to help make this event a huge success. VO5 will be back to keep the dance floor rockin'! So spread the word and mark your calendars to attend this year's RibFest!
Thanks to all of you that sent your condolences for my mom’s passing, I really appreciate it. My condolences go out to Bill Elmore on the passing of his wife, Joan.
With Labor Day just around the corner, we know that summer is winding down. So make sure you get out to the Tiki Bar. Our Tiki bar is the talk of the town, and it looks fantastic out there. Thanks to everyone who has put time and energy into the decorations and grounds. We should be proud of the space we created that so many folks to enjoy.

There's been discussion of changing the by-laws that require the Club to hold
twelve Social Nights per year. It's been suggested, due to lack of membership
participation, that the number of Socials held per year be reduced to four.

The Club luau was a great success and a very entertaining evening. Our HUGE thanks goes to Bill Elmore, who started cooking the pig on Tuesday, staying all night to monitor the temperature. IT was delicious!! Another BIG thanks goes to Jerry Henrikson, who orchestrated the rest of the meal including serving. Thank you to his crew of servers, who did an excellent job of making sure we were all well fed. The entertainer, Bahama Bob, lured us into a tropical island feeling, making the evening perfect. Thanks also go out to Jack Fadness, Greg Schultz, Gayle & Wendy Broksieck, Ann Badeau, Barb Loye, Dennis & Nancy Kugle, Carl Pearson, Kim Schwenn and Vicki Kinney for their efforts in making for a fun evening.
Thank you to Bill Elmore, Kelly Jones, Kristine Pittz, Vicki Kinney, Kim Schwenn, Nancy Schmelzer, and Jack Fadness for preparing and serving our July Business Meeting meal. Thanks to Mary Ann Gosda for preparing the divine pasta salad for
the Club Luau. Letter to the Membership! There was a questionnaire sent out 2 months back or so. We received less than 20 back. We need to have your feedback in the next 30 days as to what you, as members, would like to do for Business and Social meetings including the types of foods you would like, or would make, for these meetings. This is your Club and your input is essential!. We have canceled Socials this year because of low numbers and have just canceled the Club Picnic. We need your participation! The Club is, and can be, a fun atmosphere with more involvement from members. We have been calling everyone to remind them of special events. And even now, we've had to make calls for Social nights. Some of you are probably getting tired of these calls (we're a little tired of making them)! We need your feedback on that also. Most things going on at the Club are listed in the newsletter and/or calendar. Members, please give us your suggestions, ideas, and what you would like at the Club from food to entertainment, how to better get the word out, how much advanced notice you wish to have, etc. Please call or email Nancy or Jerry Henrikson.
