    1Lightly pressdown on the arrowandslide the battery coveropen.

    2 Inserttwosize-AAAalkalinebatteries,observingthe correctpolarity.

    3Close the battery covercompletely. W hen the HOLDswitch is set to the direction

    of the arrow, the display is turned off after[HOLD] is displayed. Follow the next stepwithout regard to it.

    Replacingthe Batteries:

    When [N] appears on thedisplay,replacethe batteries as soon as possible.Size-AAA alkalinebatteries arerecommended.When thebatteries aredepleted,[O] appears on thedisplay,andtherecor-der shuts off. To replacethebattery, makesurethat you set theHOLDswitch to theoppositedirection ofthe

    arrow beforereplacing.

    Standby Mode and Display ShutOff:

    Iftherecorderis stoppedfor5minutesor longerduringrecordingor playing,it goes into Standby (power-save)mode,and thedisplay shuts off.To exit Standby modeand turn on thedisplay,press any button.
