On February 14, 2017, Mrs. Poalillo's and Ms. Decher's Fourth Grade Class at VMES participated in a Valentine Center Day. The centers included a Valentine Card, Valentine Letter Challenge, Valentine Bag, Love Potion #10 Math Center, and Valentine Interactive Computer Games. These centers allowed the students to use their creativity all while learning. The students wrote notes to their loved ones following a friendly letter format; created words to help build their spelling skills, syllable breakdown, and robust vocabulary; participated in a math center that challenged them to use the math skills they have acquired this year to solve real world problems; and used their technology skills to work to access a Google Stream to get on the Interactive Game Site which tested their math, spelling, and logic skills. All students were active participants at each center. They had to work both independently and as team. This helped to build teamwork skills. These centers provided an engaging environment for the students to work and learn together. VMES Valentine’s Day Centers in 4th Grade
