VME SOCIETY MANAGED INSTITUTIONS

Editor’s Note

JOURNEY FOR EVER…

By the time this 24th issue of Newsletter is being browsed, the Autonomous Review Committee would have overhauled our past, present and future activities of this elite institution. The

experts in Autonomous Review Committee are the highest ranked Academicians as well as seasoned administrators. Their expectations from our College would have been very high as they had reviewed premier institutions all over India. All our staff members and students are euphoric to project their achievements and accomplishments befo re the expert committee which would give them the fittest testimonial of their hard work. Truly, the success of this great institution has not come overnight but in a phased manner. Every one of the stake holders has burnt his midnight oil to exalt himself and thereby this most prestigious institution.

Surely the experts will be finding our college most deserved to have acquired the autonomy after sensing the tremendous development gained after autonomy. Empowered by the autonomy, the curriculum and the syllabi have been redesigned to cater to the needs of current scenario in addition to the introduction of several certificate courses which enhance the employment opportunities. No doubt, they would sanction the continuation of autonomy, but that is not our sole objective. This occasion should be taken as an opportunity for self introspection. Rather than basking on our past successes and laurels we should step into the next level of progression. Keeping aside their appreciation it is better to concentrate on our vulnerable areas and to take measures to anneal our academic records. Since the staff members of this College have enormous potential to deliver goods and the Management is magnanimous and resourceful, the status of ‘College with Potential for excellence’ is at striking distance.

Dr. S. Raja Mohamed Kamil

IC NEWSLETTER | JULY 2016 - DEC 2016

Secretary’s Message

I feel happy to present the 24th edition of our College Newsletter, the first printed matter released in my tenure as the Secretary and Correspondent from 1st June 2016. This newsletter is a showcase of our academic, research and social activities that not only justifies our reaccreditation with ‘A’ grade but also validates the grant of autonomy. My Alma mater has completed its first cycle of autonomy successfully and now it is the time for getting extension status to autonomy. I feel honored to guide this college for achieving another milestone during its hundred years of history. I take this opportunity to welcome the UGC’s expert committee members for the extension of autonomous status to this great institution. I am very grateful to all those who worked directly and indirectly for the reaccreditation and autonomy review process. I take this opportunity to call upon all our teaching and non-teaching staff to regroup to impress upon the members of the upcoming autonomy review committee. I hope everyone will find this newsletter exciting and interesting.

Dr. Anwarullah Hajee

Principal’s Message

The 24th edition of the College Newsletter is very special because the long awaited news on the appointment of UGC’s expert committee for extension of autonomy to our institution has been received during this period. Like every newsletter, this also celebrates our successful voyage on education as minority managed autonomous college. Our maiden attempt on autonomy for the past six years shows spectacular development in academic, administration, infrastructure, quality, and accountability in this institution. Within the span of six years, we understood the concept of autonomy and learned the methodology and art of self-governance. The academic interaction among the teachers and the taught has improved a lot. The readiness to accept the responsibility is realized in the campus. The Ability to evolve new methodology in teaching, learning and evaluation has improved. Research has become a part of the curricula and every department is registering its social responsibility via extension activity. Collaborations and MoU’s with industries, companies and hospitals are the regular features of our College. I hope this newsletter portrays all our achievements and acclaimed activities. I pray Almighty to provide power and patience to succeed our new goals in the forthcoming years.
