ERICA XII.

ERICA XII

Erica XII combines the graceful lines of early 20th-century yachts with a modern underwater body and next-generation sloop rig to ensure fast

and comfortable sailing at all times.

Her sleek and well-balanced lines in combination with a modern rig provide this magnificent yacht with the ultimate performance hull, both speed-

wise and in terms of comfort.

Erica XII carries an impressive sail area, which is so

well balanced with the hull that she can be manually

steered in all winds. Downwind her a-symmetric code

sail offers truly impressive power.

Erica’s traditional woodwork on deck generates a

magnificently warm atmosphere. The beautiful cladded

deckhouses and skylights are the epitome of traditional

craftsmanship.

LIFE ON DECK

The focal point of living on a yacht of this size and magnitude is always the deck. Carefully located seating areas are spread across the vast expanse

and offer a variety of places to lounge, dine, party, socialise and sunbathe. Every conceivable activity has been incorporated.

Especially when at sea, the heart of the action revolves around the main cockpit. Here we find the two primary steering positions, an arrangement

that ensures guests feel actively involved in the sailing and all that transpires on deck.

Forward of the main deckhouse is a smaller cockpit. Half sunk into the deck, this offers a private sanctuary for the crew. This cockpit also contains

a remote steering position, which can be used by the crew in special occasions.

Aft of the owners’ deckhouse is an area designed for their private use. Hidden away in deck lockers when not used, two treadmills offer the chance

to stay trim in the open.

The steering helms have a central position in the main cockpit. Here we see modern sailing superyacht technology seamlessly blended with bespoke

classic wood work. Sophisticated cable steering give this 178 ft yacht a direct helm feeling that is rarely found on vessels of this size.

In the evening the well-lit cockpit offers a true al fresco salon. The permanent bimini provides shade in the sun and protection against all the

elements at other times. There is space for comfortable lounging as well as dining, with various areas of the vast cockpit each having their own

functionality.

INTERIOR

The interior design was a team effort between the owners, interior designers, yard and interior decorators.

Descending from the deck into the main deckhouse one reaches a combined seating/dining area, which can also be used for working and

socializing. To the starboard side is a bar with dedicated stools.

A dedicated dining space is found on the starboard side, with a lounging zone to port that doubles as a television area.

Forward of this area is an office and a gym. A moving panel between the gym and lounging area allows people to watch TV while exercising.

The four guest cabins and the owners’ stateroom are situated in the aft part of the yacht and finished in the same style and ambience. Mahogany

tones merge with traditional lines to create a warm atmosphere.

VITTERS SHIPYARD

We are builders of amongst the finest sailing and

motor yachts being produced today. The emphasis is

on delivering superior quality in the finished yacht,

providing seamless support to Owner and crew after

the yacht is delivered and incorporating the lessons

learned from every yacht into every subsequent project,

all while maintaining a competitive commercial position.

Situated on the original Dutch coastline, now in

the heart of the country, Vitters continues to take

advantage of the area’s longstanding boat building

traditions. We employ the best local craftsman and also

utilize the strong infrastructure of specialist technical

companies that continues to grow in support of the

Dutch yacht building industry. The priorities are to

always try to better the quality of the build while at

the same time improving efficiency and always looking

for the simpler, more reliable technical solutions.

Of course Owners are the first and most important

ingredient of every yacht building project. Every Owner

has a unique vision and so each project provides unique

challenges. We in turn challenges the engineering and

construction team to fulfill the Owner’s vision and at

the same time to deliver a strong, safe and practical

superyacht; complying with the usual external regulatory

bodies. The quality and track record of Vitters’ f leet

bears testament to the success of this approach.
