Administration 2002-2004 Co-Chair of the Graduate Consortium of Women’s Studies hosted by Radcliffe Institute at Harvard University. 1982- present Counseling Psychology faculty. Director of M.S. and Ph.D. programs at various points, involved admission, program development, planning, and student advising. Also worked with others to develop a Doctoral Program and seek APA approval. Stimulated by changing licensing requirements for Mental Health Counselors, I revised Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology program, developing interdisciplinary concentrations. 1978-1982 SUNY at Buffalo-Clinical Coordinator. Developed sequential Counseling Psychology training program across M.S. and Ph.D., which included three levels of clinical training. 1976-1977 Director of the Guidance Bureau at Kent State University. Responsibilities included: Policy- making reorganization; Inter-agency relationships; staff training, development and supervision; coordination of services; programming. Brought the Guidance Bureau in compliance with Title IX regulations. Coordinator of College Counseling Program. Responsibilities included programming, Program Maintenance, budget, coordinator of Counseling /Women, Drug counseling and Advising of M.Ed and Ed.S. students and developing internship sites and supervision Consulting I have had several academic courses in organization development, design, intervention and analysis of change, including a year long training program in organization development and intervention with highly qualified NTL professionals who had ongoing consulting relationships. Since 1973, I have been doing a variety of consulting on my own. My consulting experience has ranged from design, implementation and leading workshops, and course development to ongoing relationships with educationally related establishment of goals, methods and effective teaching, organizational analysis, redefinition, conflict management and human relations training. The following are some of the major consulting experiences:

• Evaluated the Counseling, psychology and social work program for Franklin Pierce University

• Worked with Lesley University to make creditable an alternative to CACREP accreditation of MS counseling Psychology Programs with MPAC

• Worked with MPH program to develop community advocacy course and also gain program accreditation.

• Worked with Urban Policy, Medicine, Public Health, Education and Counseling Psychology to plan and carry out a interdisciplinary conference

Process involved decision-making, goal clarification, establishment of norm and effective communication, conflict resolution, paraprofessional training emphasizing group development, ethics and leadership skills.

• Ongoing relationship with the Experimental College of Kent State University. The main emphasis was on staff development and credibility.

Counseling/Therapy- Individual and Couples My counseling theory has a strong feminist, pan-theoretical, developmental and phenomenological-existential base. A considerable amount of teaching and scholarship has been directed toward its development. My work has included 9 texts, many chapters

and articles, as well as a ABPP Diplomate examination in Feminist Therapy. Major counseling/therapy settings include:

• Private practice in Boston-Feminist Therapy. • Private practice in Buffalo, NY, focused on women. • Direct treatment involving assessment and therapy as well as case management at

Kevin Coleman Community Mental Health Center. • Supervision of staff and direct treatment as the director of the Guidance Bureau at

Kent State University. • Staff Psychologist trainee through V.A. Grant at Counseling and Testing Center,

Youngstown State University. • Intern at Counseling and Testing Center at the University of New Hampshire. • Counselor with Adult Basic Education. • Director and Counselor of W.H.O. involved: funding, programming, working

relationship with other agencies, public relations, outreach program, staff training and supervision.

Group Work My group work experience has been extensive, including several theory courses and co-leading and leading diverse groups. My experiences range across the spectrum of kinds of groups and populations: women’s support and CR groups; counseling and therapy groups; personal growth (interpersonal communication, encounter); community development and support groups; group guidance; special focus groups (divorce, career, intrapsychic exploration, conflict management, social skills, chronic pain aging etc.); and leadership training. In addition, I have integrated group dynamics and communications patterns into teaching, committees, supervision, consulting and administration where appropriate.
