VIT Company and Product Introduction: Video Internet Technologies (VIT) Company has been operating in various hi-tech industries since 2000.

One main focus for the company has been and continues to be, the development of software for video

surveillance systems and intelligent modules for video data processing. VIT has a rich experience

throughout Europe, the CIS countries and in Latin America implementing many government and private

projects providing cutting-edge LPR solutions for traffic and access control.

The VIT Recognition Server provides license plate recognition for motor vehicles and train wagons to

meet a range of different customer requirements including list matching against a “hot list” compilation,

access and intrusion control. It is a powerful engine combined with a user-friendly interface that is

flexible enough to be integrated with various kinds of software. VIT Recognition Server analyzes one or

several video streams from any source provided by XProtect®, both remote and local, then passes the

recognition events to Milestone Event Server for further processing. The events are stored in

Milestone’s database and can be viewed in the Milestone Smart Client. Rapid processing speeds and the

convenient, ready-to-use XProtect MIP management plug-in used for configurations, provide vehicle

registration and traffic analysis on integrated systems built with the Milestone XProtect VMS and VIT.

VIT and XProtect® Integration Summary: There are three main processes by which the integration between the Milestone XProtect VMS and the

VIT Analytics Server is accomplished. The VIT system must first gain access to the video sources recorded

and managed by XProtect, the parameters of the ANPR must be configured, and the detection events

and subsequent alarms need to be managed between the two systems. The following processes

describe in general how these actions are executed.

1. Authentication – Configuration of the authentication parameters allow the VIT system to gain

access to the XProtect video sources. This is accomplished through the XProtect menu within

the VIT Analytic Server Manager.

2. MIP Plug-in – Selection of individual video sources and the configuration of ANPR detection and

scene parameters takes place within the menus available within the VIT MIP Management Plug-

in which is added to the XProtect Management Client or Application.

3. Event and Alarm Linking – Alarms, surveillance images, and metadata, are added to the XProtect

system, and available for display within the XProtect Smart Client due to the configuration and

linking of events triggered by the VIT software. This configuration takes place in the XProtect

Management Client or Application.

matched to the text in the event metadata.

Certification Results: The integrated functionality which exists between the VIT system and the XProtect system was entirely

verified and documented. The performance of the integrated system does not impact an operational

XProtect surveillance system in a form that causes unpredictable or functionally noticeable degradation.

The VIT solution has passed all elements and has thereby passed the certification.

Sales Logistics: Product or Solution Availability & Licensing

How is the product sold? Product is sold only to distributors. Distributors then resell it to their installers and integrators. Distributor must complete VIT training on how to work with product, and afterward sign a contract. All end-user support is provided by the distributor. VIT Company provides technical support only in some special cases.

How is the product ordered? Customer can directly contact VIT, and they will be redirected to the appropriate regional distributor.

How is the product delivered? The software can be downloaded online. It is also possible to receive the software package along with a USB dongle, directly from distributors.

How do integrators obtain the required documentation? All necessary documentation is provided in the software assembly. The software manuals are available on the server after installation. Additional documentation can be requested from the distributor.

How is the integrated solution licensed? The product is licensed per recognition channel (video stream), and per processing speed; Lite version can process 6 frames per second (FPS), Pro version can process 25 FPS. The number of licensed recognition channels and their type is defined by the license embedded in a USB dongle, or by a traditional software based license file which is requested during the installation and provided by VIT.
