Speakers recognize points of poten7al speaker change because speakers talk in units called TurnConstruc%onalUnits(TCU).Thelengthofspeaker7me,howspeakerchangesoccurandwhetherTCUsare reciprocated or ignored can reveal the underlying social rela7ons and power structures of thecontextofspeaking.
