Visual notetaking is a process of representing ideas non-linguistically. (i.e. 'drawing pictures'.)
Visual notetaking can include concept mapping, but also more artistic ways of visually capturing and representing ideas.

"...Given all this listening we do, you would think we'd be good at it! In fact most of us are not, and research suggests that we remember between 25 percent and 50 percent of what we hear. That means that when you talk to your boss, colleagues, customers or spouse for 10 minutes, they pay attention to less than half of the conversation." https://www.mindtools.com/CommSkll/ActiveListening.htm
Discussion/ActivityACTIVE LISTENING
Consider the facts about listening... we retain so little... This section is about rebuilding 'listening' skills from bottom up... like getting back to the gym after a long break...

THERE IS ONLY ONE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MINDFUL SYNTHESIS AND VISUAL SYNTHESIS:
SKETCHING OUT V.S. MINDFUL MAPPING
If you want to really mindfully relay information, and visually capture it, introduce adjectives, slow things down a bit:
VERB + NOUN + ADJECTIVE
