Counselor: Jay’s Camp
• Supervisor of and mentor to a group of ten girls who were about to enter fifth grade. • Planned and successfully executed group activities, games, and crafts around various themed days including Olympics, Time Machine, International Day, Carnival, MTV, and Wild West.• Taught beginner-level swimming lessons.

On International Day, each counselor had to come up with activities surrounding a country; my group chose China. The day before, we planned to wear our hair in buns and wear bathrobes, to represent traditional Chinese kimonos. We made Chinese lanterns to decorate our corner of the pavilion, painted our names in Chinese (I translated them the night before using the internet and printed them for each girl), and made a Chinese dragon to parade around the camp.

For Time Machine Day, my group represented the 50s. We wore poodle skirts, turned our table into a soda fountain (those are little stools and juke boxes drawn on the yellow paper), and served the other campers ice cream sundaes!

• Represented the Walt Disney World College Program (WDWCP) on the Illinois State University campus and executed recruitment marketing strategies. • Routinely exceeded recruitment flow goals and received top tier reward in the earned incentive program.• Experienced and comfortable presenting detailed information to large audiences.• Acted as a liaison between WDWCP and the campus/students.• Held top honors as the most active and successful recruiting team in the country.

Homecoming ParadeTo promote
awareness for The Walt Disney World College Program, my team walked in the ISU Homecoming Parade dressed as mechanics for Lightning McQueen, from Disney’s Cars. I made signs, with his sayings on them, and checkered flags for us to carry. We used toolboxes to carry our handouts and stopped every few feet for dramatic pit stops, where we got the parade watchers involved in maintaining our car.

The theme for the ISU Homecoming Parade this time was “Spread the Red”. We took that theme to a Disney level and dressed as the card people from Alice in Wonderland who planted white roses and then had to paint them red. I made card people costumes, paint cans with red paint spilling over the sides, and gave everyone red roses to carry.
Display Windows
Here is one of the displays I designed and executed to create program awareness. Team members wrote descriptions of the jobs they performed during the program and attached them to photographs of themselves doing that job, in costume. In the bottom, right corner, we set up a mirror with Mickey ears on it and wrote, “Can you see yourself working for Walt Disney World?” on the mirror.
For Valentine’s Day, I came up with the idea of attaching our handouts to Disney Valentines and giving them to passersby with candy and well-wishes.
Our information tables were one of a kind and definitely had a reputation throughout the recruiting program. From the scrapbooks to the Disney-themed Mr. Potato Heads, we definitely had people stopping to find out what the fuss was all about. We even handed-out sugar cookies shaped like Mickey Mouse!

Personal Projects
I dabble in a variety of artistic outlets. I love working with paper and glue, making cards for friends and scrapbook pages, but I also do things that are a little more advanced and involved, such as woodworking. I love challenging myself and find inspiration in all aspects of my life.
Birthday PartyMy roommate asked for a
“Pink & Orange, Rock Star Birthday Party”. Here is what I created. I made “fans” jumping out of random places with signs, cut spot lights out of colored paper, hung CDs from the ceiling, and even made backstage passes for the guests to wear.
T-Shirt Quilt
When I got a request to make a t-shirt quilt, I didn’t shy away, due to my lack of sewing experience. I researched it, made a plan, and executed the plan. My curiosity in various media, along with my college experience, make for a wide spectrum of abilities. If I am not 100% confident with a certain media, I challenge myself to learn about it and attempt a project.

making scrapbooks, cards, and stationery in my free time. Here is just a small sampling of the various things I’ve created over the years. I use a variety of media and styles.
Here’s a Halloween costume I came up with while I was an instructional assistant and these are little pumpkins I helped students make during the school’s Halloween party.
