The Comunidad Valenciana (Valencian Region) is a very touristic autonomous region. It is in the east of Spain and it has got beach. There are three provinces in the Valencian Region: Valencia, Castellón and Alicante. The capital of this region is Valencia. Our city (Villena) is in the province of Alicante.

In the Valencian Region, many people speak Spanish and Valencian and it has got three symbols: a flag, an anthem, a coat of arms

and a banner.

Typical meals

The most typical meals in this autonomous region are: the rice

with beans and turnips and the paella. We can make the paella with meat and vegetables,

with seafood, and with meat and seafood.

The “turrón” is an important sweet in the Valencian Region. But we have other sweets: the

“arnadí” (with pumpkin and nuts), the “orelletes” (fried

dough with honey), the “buñuelos de viento”, the

“cocas” (very thin pastry with sugar and brandy) and the

“flaons” (small cakes filled of curd cheese, almonds,

cinnamon, sugar, flour and eggs).

It is also important the “horchata” (we make this drink with crushed tiger

nut, water and sugar) and the “agua de cebada” (we

make this drink with roasted and grinded

grains of barley boiled with sugar).
