Day01 Arrive Kochi

Welcome to your 'Vibrant Kerala' Tour! On arrival at the airport in Kochi / railway station in Ernakulam, you will be met andtransferred to your hotel. On arrival, check into your hotel.Later, visit the St. Francis Church, the Mattencherry Palace, the Jewish Synagogue and view the Chinese fishing nets in FortKochi area.St.Francis Church is said to be India's oldest European built church, built by Portuguese Franciscan friars. The original woodenstructure was rebuilt in stone around the mid-16th century. After the occupation of Kochi by the British in 1795, it became anAnglican church and is presently being used by the Church of South India. Having passed away in Kochi in 1524, Vasco daGama was buried here for 14 years before his remains were taken to Lisbon. His tombstone can be seen in the church.Mattenchary Palace was built by the Portuguese in 1555 and was presented to the Raja of Kochi as a goodwill gesture. The sidegalleries have amazing murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata and Puranic legends.The synagogue was built in 1568 and destroyed by the Portuguese in 1662 and rebuilt two years later when the Dutch tookKochi. It features hand painted willow patterned floor tiles brought from China. Inside the sanctuary is an ornate gold pulpit andan upstairs balcony for women who worship separately according to the community's Orthodox rites.Overnight in Kochi - None (Meals on your own)

Day02 On to Munnar (130 kms / approx. 4 hour drive)

This morning, after breakfast, proceed on a drive through the picturesque countryside of Munnar, a popular gateway retreatduring the British Raj which is surrounded by lush green tea estates. On arrival, check into your hotel.The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this quaint hill station on your own. Overnight in Munnar (B)

Day03 In Munnar

Today morning, enjoy visit to Old Munnar, which includes the charming old Christ Church with its original fourteen rows ofwooden pews. You will also visit Mattupetty Lake which is flanked by steep hills, woods and the small hydro-electricity dam. The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.Overnight in Munnar (B)

Day04 On to Thekkady (105 kms / approx. 3 1/2 hour drive)

Today, drive to Thekkady (Periyar), the land of spice plantations. On arrival, check into your hotel.The rest of the day is at leisure to walk through the bustling spice market in the Kumily Village. Overnight in Thekkady (B)

Day05 On to Kumarakom (142 kms / approx. 4 hour drive)

Today, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Periyar which is the best way to locate wildlife in Periyar Sanctuary (boats can be hireddirectly). The park has herds of elephants, deers, and wild dogs, barking deer, sambhar, gaurs and wild boars. In the afternoon,take a picturesque drive to Kumarakom located on the idyllic backwaters and check into your hotel on arrival. The rest of the day is at leisure. You can enjoy a backwater cruise, (boats can be hired on direct payment basis) lazing in asmall country boat as it meanders through the tranquil network of water canals, dotted with busy hamlets, lush green paddyfields on your own.Overnight in Kumarakom (B)

Day06 On to Kochi (60 kms / approx. 2 hour drive) * Return home with happy memories

Today, you bid farewell to 'God's own Country' as your 'Vibrant Kerala' tour ends with a transfer to airport in Kochi or railwaystation in Ernakulam for your onward journey.
