PREMISE
The world is changing. We have been in isolationfor weeks, and although restrictive measures willbe lifted, the effects on the human mind and spiritare irreversible. Governments and industry leaders are tied together in a fight against thevirus and healing the world.
METHOD
As designers, we are constantly faced with thesearch for the new “new”. We use ideation anddesign thinking to discover where the worldis heading. We created a compendium of ideasto help senior leaders envision a bettertomorrow.

• Restaurant brands will focus more on food, as service andatmosphere will diminish.
• Large restaurants will reinvent. In order to accomodate clients, the spaces can be reorganised into multiplecooking stations. They will become similar to food-malls.
• Washing stations will be largely available in different areasof the restaurant, as health concerns rise. A large number ofwashing products and skin-care products will emerge.
• Fast serving and take-away restaurants will thrive.
• Dark-kitchens for deliveries will rise and provide a varietyof innovative food concepts.
• Restaurants that promote little client-personnel interactionwill gain awareness.

• There will be a need for fast-dinning restaurants, a mixbetween fast-food and fine-dinning. • Ingredients delivery and personalized chef-to-clientcommunication will increase.

• Online work-out bookings will be used, in order to assure asimultaneous maximal number of clients.

• As more people will exercise at home, personalizedtrainer-to-client content will rise.

• Isolated resorts with broadband internet access will be in highfashion. Clients prefer private spaces rather than crowded ones.
• Glamping resorts will rise, as they promote a return to natureand simple life. Trailers, caravans as well as camping will increase.
• Digital travel will rise, with popular places like museums, libraries and public squares already available online for VR visits.
• As teams will interact less in the office life, team-buildingfacilities will be sought-after.
• Hotel will introduce personnel-free check-ins. The registrationwill be made via apps that allow access to hotel facilities.

• Offices are one of the hardest-hit public spaces. In response, offices will make more effort to win us back.Top facilities will become commonplace.
• As there is no need for constant desks for each employee, hub-type offices will become frequent.Workers will be able to rent their desk online, book a meeting room or a conference area.
• Office space will decrease in size, and investors will take into account larger occupancy levels.A 130-140% occupancy level will be the new norm.
• Companies will invest in spectacular design, tailored worker services and new technologies.This will make a difference in selecting your hub-office.
• Offices will become spaces that enhance group creativity trough interaction and personal well-being foremployees. Regular office tasks will be performed at home.

• People will spend more time outdoors. Parks will be popular and small services will thrive: outdoor washingstation, food kiosks and food trucks, sport equipment rentals, outdoor lockers, picnic rentals, bike and scooterrentals, charging stations.
• Urban farms and gardens will increase, as interest in locally sourced food rises. Spaces around the apartmentbuildings, on top of buildings and even underground will host community and individual gardens.
• Roof terraces will also be used for outdoor exercising, yoga or walking pets.

• W orking from home becomes the new normal. There will be a disposition for larger houses, rather thanapartments. If clients choose apartments, multiple rooms and large terraces are a must-have.
• House 2.0 will be built from sustainable materials, with care for the environment. House 2.0 will be self suficient,detached from the grid, and will produce water and energy. It will filter air and ventilate naturally.

• When consumer demand returns it might befor different products, more connected to thevirtual world.
• Time spent indoors means time spent “inside”ourselves. Egos will thrive, as we lose sight ofglobalisation. The future will be more around the individual, and less around the community.
