Competent leaders, providing quality education and professional training in

selected areas of specializations through instruction, research, extension services and

PHILOSOPHY

EVSU addresses its academic endeavors towards the development of the socio

economic condition of Region VIII by emphasizing the development of human resources

and necessary input to production and growth. It plays a major role in providing the

human resources for industrial agri-business enterprises as well as for the small,

medium, and large-scale industries, which are the components for regional

development.

EVSU GRADUATE SCHOOL

The Graduate School is the logical outgrowth which serves as basis for an urgent

concern of the school administration as the history of the Institute revealed, that there

was a popular demand for the advanced education to be offered for the main purpose of

professional training, more educational outlook, and research consciousness in various

academic-technological and vocational-industrial fields of endeavor.

With only a few teachers-students who sought to upgrade their professional

competencies, the Graduate School started its operation in the Summer Term of 1973.

Because of the popular demand for advanced education and professional training in

academic, vocational-industrial fields, the school has substantially progressed, and

attained a considerable degree of distinction and identity.

Providing quality education and training in graduate education to professionals in

the region along the areas of general education, science and technology, vocational-

industrial and engineering fields, through instruction, research, extension and

imbued with positive values that help enhance regional and national development.

Goals and Objectives of EVSU Graduate School

The primary purpose of the Graduate School is to develop effective teachers in

education, government, business, industry and in other fields of endeavor by developing

the students to be competent, innovative, creative and productive citizens in a global

village.

As a Graduate School in the region offering specialized courses in vocational,

trade, industrial, technological, engineering and other related fields of education

including rural development, administration and educational programs management, the

Department has adopted the following objectives.

1. To provide a comprehensive graduate education with a wider orientation in the

fields of research, science, technology and general education.

2. To provide a gradual education designed to improve professional and

technological competencies of teachers, entrepreneurs, engineers,

administrators and managers in the region.

3. To develop scientific innovative ability among the present and future leaders that

would help them meet the demands of a dynamic society.

4. To equip professional leaders with the values and skills needed for the promotion

of effective and efficient service to society.

5. To enhance the operationalization of the knowledge-creation process supportive

of regional development.

6. To upgrade the graduate students’ ability to design strategy, structure and system

for promotion of continuous process development inherent in a changing society.

7. To encourage research along areas of immediate concern that are germane to

the process with abundant society.
