Happy Thanksgiving!

The beginning or as some people may

say, the origination of anything tells us how

long, where, or why things have been done.

Thanksgiving is a time of showing appreciation to

others who have blessed you in some way.

On the other hand, a pondering question is

where it all began? Thanksgiving, some say, origi-

nated when the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth

Rock, but I think it goes even further back to bib-

lical times. There are countless times where peo-

ple have given thanks to those who have blessed

them in some way.

When Israel (Jacob) arrived in Shechem, he

gave a burnt offering to God for bringing him to

the lands of his fathers. Hannah, the mother of

Samuel, was thankful to God for giving her a baby

that she desperately wanted. Therefore, after he

was weaned, she gave him back to God.

The Israelites also showed thankfulness

to God for bringing them out of bondage

and into the Promise Land. We all should be

thankful for the gift of Jesus who was born and

died for our sins. He came to earth to give others

life. You see, when the Pilgrims came to Ply-

mouth Rock , they gave Thanksgiving a date, but

they did not start it. It has been around for a very

long time and it is not just limited to that day.

The act of being thankful should be on going,

but unfortunately, its not. So the next time some-

one asks you how Thanksgiving originated, tell

them it started during

biblical times. It was

finally given a name on

Plymouth Rock.

BLOOD PRESSURE

Blood pressure’s new average is 115/75. Of course everyone in 2012 should know what his/her

normal blood pressure is. Please remember blood pressure is the silent killer. If you have a blood

pressure that is out of control, create many problems if left unchecked. What is your normal?

Some problems that can occur with uncontrolled blood pressure are:

brain=possible stroke

kidney=failure

heart=attacks

Please have your pressure checked. A simple thing could become a big deal. If you do not have

insurance, seek out free clinics/health fairs. If you are out of breath after walking a short distance,

always sweating, and it's not hot, always thirsty? Who knows what might be happening? Some say

garlic lowers the pressure, some say take two baby aspirins, or some say drink hibiscus tea, 3 cups

a day.

The question is what is appropriate for you? Belly fat equals a toxic problem. Too much fat around

the middle could be poisoning your liver to be exact. Horseradish helps detoxify the liver. It can be

found in the supermarket frozen food section near the cheese. That is usually where I find it.

Here are some things that may be helpful:

- pumpkin seeds flatten the belly. Let's not kid ourselves, we know when our bodies are out of

shape.

- fennel seeds help with gas/bloating

- add some water to lime, for those who don't like the taste. We should drink lots of water.

In addition, dropping a few pounds by exercising a bit could help. Just start by walking a little more.

Do whatever works for you. Blood pressure, weight, cholesterol, and blood sugar are all hot button

issues for me because the first man I ever loved died of a massive heart attack. He had all of these

things listed above and it did not bother him, just everyone else around him.

DIABETES

The average blood sugar is 70-100. 100 -125 is considered pre diabetic. Do you know what your

numbers are? Try the following to help with some diabetic issues:

- a teaspoon of white vinegar before meals may help reduce sugar spikes

- cinnamon-may help reduce sugar spikes. Place some on oatmeal, add cinnamon to your meats

while cooking.

Have you noticed at the supermarket that there are various items that have cinnamon in them? That

is not by accident. Please note that not all diabetics are overweight. Nevertheless, for those who are,

it is a good idea to drop a few pounds, and lower those numbers.

It's summer so don't forget to get your fill of fresh vegetables and fruits.

The following fruits are extremely helpful for some conditions:

Blueberries are a helpful brain food and may help with memory.

An apple a day helps keep the doctor away. This is also a memory food.

Strawberries are high in vitamin c.

Cherries may be helpful for your arthritis.

Remember your pink, blue, yellow artificial sweeteners. Aspartame, Saccharin, Sucralose may cause

you to gain weight. It might be better to choose a natural sweetener called Stevia.

AS ALWALYS CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE TRYING ANY OF THESE IDEAS/

SPICES.

God Bless!

Lazy Son

It was 5:00 a.m. and the father went to his

son Shawn's bedroom door, knocked and

said, "Son, it's time to get up. Jump in

the shower and we've got to leave

ASAP to catch any fish."

Soon it was 5:30 and dad had the coffee

brewing, the boat hooked up and he just

finished packing the truck, when he no-

ticed Shawn still wasn't up. Furious the

dad pounded on his son's bedroom door a

second time and yelled, "Jesus rose from

the dead and you can't even get out of

Bed!"

To which the son replies, "Yeah, but it

took Jesus three days!!"

Prayer for September/October/November

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you right now for all you have done in our life!

Thank you, most of all for your Dear Son Jesus the Christ,

who sacrificed his life so we can live. Help us to al-

ways remember who we are in you and that if God be for

us who can be against. Help us to walk by faith and not

by sight. Help us to understand if things are not the way

we want it to be now, that it will get better. Help us

Heavenly to remember you created us for a purpose and

that according to Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this

very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you

will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” So despite

what the enemy tries to do or say, we will live out the

days and purpose you planned for our life. We will do this

by praying at all times so that our faith would not fail.

Also so, remembering what that bible says “For I know

the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord,

thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and

a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11) So help us Heavenly Father,

not give up, not quite because we are your people, a

blessed people and no weapon formed against us shall

prosper! We thank you Father for being the author and

finisher of our faith. We love you! In Jesus name we ask

all these things; Amen!

Feature Book: Flawed System. . . Flawed Product. . .the TRUTH about the educational system from a

teacher’s perspective.

Excerpt:

Preface

Today is May 15, 2008. The students are taking the XYZ Test for 8th grad-

ers at XYZ Middle School. They have only been testing for about 40 min-

utes. In those 40 minutes, I have awakened 10 students. This is a very im-

portant test. Yet, they do not care about this test anymore than they care

about their own education.

Education in the United States has changed from the 60’s, 70’s

and 80’s when I was a child. I attended school in New York City at an

elementary school in Harlem. My parents transferred me to a private school not far from my elementary

school. I was mischievous, but smart. My first grade teacher, a nun, suggested that I be transferred to the

private school. Here, I was still mischievous, but the strong hand of various nuns, the principal, along with

my parents, kept me in line. Phone calls home, my parents’ belt, and my teacher’s ruler were all that were

needed to keep me focused and on task. Prayers and church complimented this regimen.

Inspirational Message

Exodus 20:12 states “"Honor your father and your mother, so

that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving

you.” This verse is often quoted, but many times not followed.

It does not mean to just honor your parents when you are chil-

dren, teenagers, adolescents, and when you become a young

adult, it does not apply anymore. This is a continuance until

they or you die.

In addition, this verse ex-tends to all that have authority over

you. I feel it necessary to say this, because some individuals be-

lieve if the adult(s) are not their blood parents, they do not have

to listen to them. This is a false and terrible ploy from the devil

designed to deceive and destroy families and communities.

With that said, this verse means to honor and respect those

who have cared for, sacrificed for, and loved you. Well, maybe,

it is that they do not know what honor means. Lets examine this

word, HONOR. Although there are at least three definitions for

this word, we will focus on the one that applies to this message,

the honor of one’s parents. To honor your parents means to hold

them in high regard, to respect the wisdom and knowledge they

have attained, having lived life longer than you. Furthermore,

this should be demonstrated in the way you communicate and

interact with them. Your interaction with your parents should be

worthy of this honor at all times.

This is especially important to remember when you are in

your early or even late twenties. The “sense of freedom” and “I

am grown” mentality seems to materialize more so during this

time period. If you are guilty of being disrespectful, haughty, or

down right nasty to your parents, you must ask God for forgive-

ness before he deals with you in a manner that you will not be

happy with. There are many children and adults dead before

their parents because of their disrespectfulness.

Honor your father and mother, so that they don’t have to bury

you first.

Minister A.A.

March 21st, October 21st, or December 2012? What do you believe?

Page 10 Volume 2, Issue 1

Jesus C

hrist is th

e WA

Y!

Some say Judgment Day is May 21st or October 21st, or December 2012. The Bible says, “No one

knows the day nor the hour when Christ re-turns.” This, I believe, stands true today. Instead of

worry-ing about the date, we should focus on whether or not we are prepared for the return. Too

many of us must make changes that will put us in a position to be worthy of Christ’s return. Are we

ready? Have we repented and asked for God’s mercy for the sins we have committed?

Will you be one of those staying behind after the Rapture? Have you accepted Christ? This

should be our concern, instead of the date. The date should be the least of your worries. If God

wanted us to know the date, he would have put it in the Bible with everything else He placed in

there for us to live by. There are some things

God did not want us to know. Obviously, the date of Jesus’ return is one of them. There are people

predicting the date and as a result, people have been selling their possessions. When the predicted

date does not materialize, those people are left with nothing. One organization, which will remain

nameless in this newsletter, has an estimated worth of $18,000,000.00. If the organization is predict-

ing the end of the world, why would they need millions of dollars?

"Study to shew (show) thy-self (yourself) approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be

ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" 2nd Timothy 2:15 - KJV. This verse simply means

that we should read and study the Bible. This process will allow us to not be fooled by the wiles of

the devil. Reading for yourself will allow God to help you to understand and act upon His directions

and lessons in His Word. Many people attend church and wait for the preacher to divulge the Word

Unfortunately, it is important that you read the Word for yourself. Whether you read or don’t

read for your-self, you are held account-able. The excuse of not knowing about the Word will not be

justifiable for God. I am saying all of this to say that if you read the Word, you will know that not

even Jesus knows the date of His return.

So, lets focus on what we do know. We know that Jesus will return. We know God’s expectations

for our lives based upon Bible principles. We must live by those principles and be ready for when-

ever Jesus will return!

Something to Ponder

Page 11 Volume 2, Issue 1

What happens when a person gets saved?

When I got saved, I thought that I would feel, look, and act differently.

After the process, I became confused because I didn’t feel any differently

than before I was saved. In my confusion, I did not have the full under-

standing. I did not know that your feelings have nothing to do with be-

coming saved.

Well, being under my new pastor, I thank God for him being a man after

God’s heart. He teaches, and preaches the WORD with simplicity and un-

derstanding. He taught a lesson on being saved. I said, “ Oh My God, that

explains why I didn’t feel any differently than before.” Finally, I got an

answer to my burning question. I was elated.

Through pastor’s teaching, I learned what happens when you give your

life to Christ and why I didn’t feel any differently. Romans 10:9 states,

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt be-

lieve in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be

saved.” I did not feel anything because it was my spirit that was saved;

my soul and body remained the same. My soul is the thinker, chooser,

will, mind, and personality. My body is the five senses. The spirit is the

heart of God. At that time is when God set up his residence in me. He de-

posited healing, wisdom, prosperity, and every provision in my life that I

needed.

2nd Cor. 5:17 states, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new crea-

tion has come: The old has gone, the new is here!“ I learned that as a new

Christian, my sins were forgiven at that time. I began to think of things of

God, of how I spent my money, and began to look at life from God’s per-

spective. Now, I have the Holy Spirit to lead me and guide me to all

truths. Romans 8:26 states, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infir-

mities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the

Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be

uttered.”

Your spirit is the real you. Without the Holy Spirit residing in you, you

are a child of the devil, FOR REAL!!

Now that you know what happens when you get saved, what are you

waiting for? Come as you are. Nothing is impossible for God to do!

He loves you and He’s waiting for you!

God Bless!

Teen Scene

Page 12 Volume 2, Issue 1

Are You My Friend?

Friends play a significant role in our lives as teenagers in today’s

society. The people we surround ourselves with determines where we will

go in life. So many people go down the wrong path because of the people

who they allow themselves to hang around. Not everyone can be a friend.

There are many characteristics to being a true friend. A true friend is first

a God-sent friend. That individual is someone God puts into your life for

a season or life time. A true friend is also someone that can be trusted,

someone who is honest, and someone who has integrity, and good morals.

In a lifetime, we may only have three true friends with these qualities. In

order to achieve the goal (s) we have in life, we must be focused, and have

little to no distractions, which usually comes from choosing true friends.

We should always allow God to lead us when it comes to choosing true

friends.

IN MEMORY OF DEPARTED COMRADES

Do not stand at my grave and weep;

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow;

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain;

I am the gentle autumn's rain.

When you awaken in the morning's

hush,

I am the swift up- lifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft star that shines at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry.

I am not there; I did not die in vain as

long as my sacri- fice is not forgotten.

God's purpose and plan is much bigger than I am. I'm simply a small

part in the scheme of things, yet I yield myself to Him. I am a dreamer;

a visionary you may say, therefore I desire others to dream big also. I

implore you to create a plan of action as to how you can influence,

change, and leave a legacy for your children or family. The only way

you fail is if you do not try.

"For all of God's promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a re-

sounding "Yes!" And through Christ, our "Amen" (which means

"Yes") ascends to God for His glory. It is God who enables us, along

with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and He

has identified us as His own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as

the first installment that guarantees everything He has promised us",

according to II Corinthians 1:20-22. Find a promise then ask, believe,

confess, and receive it by faith!

Are you a coffee drinker? If you are, I have a product that is great tasting and healthy! It is

called Organo Gold Coffee. You may say coffee is coffee, they all have caffeine and taste the

same. Not so, Organo Gold Coffee has an ingredient called ganoderma. It is a mushroom

grown in China used to treat many illnesses over there. The ganoderma infused with the coffee

has proven to be a healthy and great tasting beverage. Many of my customers, including my

husband, have talked about the increased energy they have after drinking the Organo Gold

Coffee. Guess what? No caffeine in this coffee.

If you are interested in purchasing some of this great tasting, healthy coffee, please go to my

website: www.aalgere.organogold.com/r/US

You may order as much coffee, hot chocolate, or green tea that you want. If you want to

know more about ganoderma, take a look at the following website:

How do you respond when you encounter people who say they are Christians, but do things that are less than Christian?

God desires for all of us to be saved. It is not His desire that any should perish. Nevertheless, He also gave us free will.

Our Father desires us to make the decision of following Him or not. Have you made that decision? When you take your

last breath where will you spend eternity? Will it be Heaven or hell? The end result will be based upon the choice you

made!

It is my hope that you choose to follow God. If you make that choice today, you have to acknowledge that you are a

sinner and repent of your sins. You must acknowledge that you believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died on the

cross for you. It is as simple as that! God hears you and God Saves you! If you have not made that decision today, please

make it soon. Tomorrow is not promised to you and waiting until later, may be too late!

Eternity is too long to be without God!
