It‟s up to you to do what you
do, but don‟t twist the Bible
to make it fit for you!
So God created man
in his [own] image, in
the image of God cre-
ated he him; male
and female created he
them. Genesis 1:27
"'Do not lie with a
man as one lies with
a woman; that is de-
testable. Leviticus
18:22
“… if you confess
with your mouth the
Lord Jesus and be-
lieve in your heart
that God has raised
Him from the dead,
you will be saved. For
with the heart one be-
lieves to righteousness,
and with the mouth con-
fession is made to salva-
tion.” Romans 10:9
Whoever is a believer in
Christ is a new creation.
The old way of living
has disappeared. A new
way of living has come
into existence. 2nd Co-
rinthians 5:17
“No one knows about
that day or hour, not
even the angels in
heaven, nor the Son, but
only the Father.
Matthew 24:36
“Therefore keep watch
because you do not
know when the owner of
the house will come
back—whether in the
evening, or at midnight,
or when the rooster
crows, or at dawn. If he
comes suddenly, do not
let him find you sleep-
ing. Mark 13: 32 to 36
If any man defile the
temple of God, him shall
God destroy; for the
temple of God is holy,
which temple ye are. 1

JUST IMAGINE. . . No Teeth!
It is important that we brush and floss regularly. Brush your teeth at least twice a day, for 2 min-utes each time, and floss at least once a day. Following this regimen may help in avoiding the possibility of having periodontal gum dis-ease. PERIODONTAL gum disease is a dis-ease of the gums that if not treated, may cause heart disease, stroke, and memory loss.
AS ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR DENTIST! Our bodies are so connected. It seems compli-cated, but it is not. We need to pay more atten-tion to this temple in order for it to last.
GOD BLESS!

Health Tips by Brother Curtis

When I was young no one talked about cholesterol. I just ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Fatback, chitlins, pork chops, steak, hamburgers, onion rings, cheesecakes, and honey buns. Remember that? Umm, sounds good, and maybe, you want some now, or probably about to eat some. Just know, it's not good for you all of the time. Or maybe, I should say FAT, FAT, FAT, FAT, FAT, FAT!!!!!! Cholesterol. What is it? Where does it come from? It is fat that the body makes, more specifically, the liver makes the fat, or cholesterol. Cholesterol comes from other animals like turkey, bacon, and fish that people eat. The ani-mals make cholesterol in their bodies. By itself, from time to time, those foods won't hurt, but over consumption on a daily basis can be harmful over time. At some point, a person starts to notice some fat build up on their bodies. Love handles, lower back hurting, a fat face, or a large stomach. Look at it this way, your body is making fat and a person that eats fat, or other animals are also becoming fat. Having a large build up of fat can be harmful to a person's heart, because fat clogs the arter-ies and can cause a heart attack. As good as the pizza may taste, the cheese and ham, are all fat that builds up in the body. Yes, the food tastes good, but is not always good for you on a consistent basis. There is another type of fat and it is called saturated fats. Those come from donuts, fried chicken, french fries and most foods cooked in oil or margarine. Margarine and butter comes from cows that make fat. Saturated fats build up and causes arteries to clog. What should a person eat? Certainly not all fats, all the time, but plenty of vegetables, fruits, nonfat/low fat milk, nonfat/low fat cereals, etc., to balance it all out. Watch the labels when you buy your foods. You should be looking for the fat and cholesterol content as well as sodium and sugar. Stay far away from processed foods. How do you lose the fat? It's hard, but it can be done. Exercise and cut out the fats, donuts, pizzas, whole milk, fried fish, eggs, fast foods and watch the fat drop off. It will take some time, but you will notice a lighter you. This has to be a lifestyle if you want to keep the fat off. What if your doctor said your cholesterol is high? What would you do? Would you continue eating those fat foods? Would you continue gaining weight and hurting your body, even though you may be prescribed medication? Would you change? Your body is the temple of the living God!! So, take care of your temple. It is your vehicle. You will need it to get around and live longer. The choice is yours. There is good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. Talk to your doctor about that and obtain physicals every year. Your doctor should have a chart of foods you can have if you have high cholesterol. I hope this is a blessing to oth-ers.
God, Are You Listening?
A man was walking through a forest pondering life.
He walked, pondered, walked, and pon-
dered.
He felt very close to nature and even
close to God.
He felt so close to God that he felt if he
spoke God would listen.
So he asked, "God, are you listening?"
And God replied, "Yes my son, I am
here."
The man stopped and pondered some
more.
He looked towards the sky and said, "God, what is a
million years to you?"
God replied, "Well my son, a second to me is like a
million years to you."
So the man continued to walk and to pon-
der... walk and ponder...
Then he looked to the sky again and said,
"God, what is a million dollars to you?"
And God replied, "My son, my son...a
penny to me is like a million dollars to
you. It means almost nothing to me.
It does not even have a value it is so lit-
tle."
The man looked down, pondered a bit and
then looked up to the sky and said, "God, can I have a
million dollars?" And God replied, "In a second."

We thank you for all that you have done and all
that you do. Thank you Father Most of all for
your Dear Son, Jesus the Christ. Help us to re-
member that you are our help, our strength, our
joy, and our peace. Help us not forget you are our
very source and even the very air we breathe.
Therefore let us hold dear to your words; meditat-
ing on it day and night. Help us to be obedient to
your word and your ways for it will help us to bear
fruit according to Mark 4: 20.

word, accept it, and bear fruit: some
thirty-fold, some sixty and some a hun-

by doing what the word says and not our
way. Help us to Trust in the Lord with
all our heart, and lean not on our own
understanding; In all our ways acknowl-
edge you and you will direct our paths.

What I say to you, I say to every-
one: „Watch!‟ ” Mark 13:37
This is how the birth of Jesus
Christ came about: His mother
Mary was pledged to be married to
Joseph, but before they came to-
gether, she was found to be with
child through the Holy Spirit. Be-
cause Joseph her husband was a
righteous man and did not want to
expose her to public disgrace, he
had in mind to divorce her quietly.
But after he had considered this,
an angel of the Lord appeared to
him in a dream and said, "Joseph,
son of David, do not be afraid to
take Mary home as your wife, be-
cause what is conceived in her is
from the Holy Spirit. She will give
birth to a son, and you are to give
him the name Jesus, because he will
save his people from their sins."
Matthew 1:18-21
Peter replied, "Repent and be bap-
tized, every one of you, in the name of
Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of
your sins. And you will receive the
gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
Woe be unto the pastors that destroy
and scatter the sheep of my pasture!
saith the LORD. Jeremiah 23:1
No one who abides in him keeps on
sinning; no one who keeps on sinning
has either seen him or known him.
Little children, let no one deceive
you. Whoever practices righteous-
ness is righteous, as he is righteous.
Whoever makes a practice of sinning
is of the devil, for the devil has been
sinning from the beginning. The rea-
son the Son of God appeared was to
destroy the works of the devil. No
one born of God makes a practice of
sinning, for God's seed abides in him,
and he cannot keep on sinning be-
cause he has been born of God. By
this it is evident who are the children
of God, and who are the children of
the devil: whoever does not practice
righteousness is not of God, nor is
the one who does not love his
brother. 1 John 3:6-10

DISCERNMENT
Often times, during my walk with Christ I
have encountered people who have found it
much easier and satisfying to place Christian-
ity into more of a religious corner more than
anything else. It's funny because these are
people who don't even make attempts to study
and understand what it means to truly have a
relationship with Jesus Christ. It both saddens
and worries me because people, in general
find it much less time consuming to classify
things into groups, so as not to be responsible
for actually “doing their homework” and
learning about people who are of another
background or society. It further raises a con-
cern to me, because these people are so quick
to write off the things of the Most High God
as if knowing Him is more optional than any-
thing else. I have had many a discussion with
a particular young man who felt as though
Christians were out to “sell” people on their
religion and damn them to Hell if they chose
not to accept. It made me feel fearful for him,
because he found it so easy to almost incrimi-
nate God, Himself, Someone who he never
wanted to get to know in the first place! He
didn't understand that human beings have a
choice, either to serve God or serve the devil.
He didn't understand that it is people who send
themselves to Hell, not God, for we are all left
with a choice.
As Christians, we have to know for our-
selves, the difference between “religion” and a
true relationship with God. Religion carries
with it an “if, then” connotation that doesn't
accurately nor completely describe what it
means to be a Christian. Living your life for
Christ is vastly different than following the
rules and hoping to go to Heaven because of
that. Christianity means that we have trusted
Christ with our souls and have grown to love
Him for what He has done, does, and will con-
tinue to do. That in turn, makes us want to
serve Christ. No “If, then” there. It is important
that we comprehend the true meaning for our
lives, which is to glorify God in every aspect of
our lives. So to all of you, my fellow Christian
brothers and sisters, I leave you with this scrip-
ture passage from Titus 3:5, which I believe
sums up why a life lived for Christ is not reli-
gious, nor does it carry with it an obligatory
undertone. “He saved us, not on the basis of
deeds which we have done in righteousness,
but according to His mercy, by the washing of
regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit”.
Be blessed!

Relationship vs. Religion
Something To Ponder by Sister Lillian

Unforgiveness
Unforgiveness is an issue that plagues Christians and Non-Christians. Yes, Christians who are tongue talking
and Bible toting are still dealing with unresolved issues, but with God anything is possible.
After I have meditated on those words, I knew I had to make things right because I wanted my Heavenly Father to
forgive me of my trespasses. I contacted my family members and told them I forgave them for their trespasses
against me and asked them to forgive me for my trespasses. Initially, it was hard to do. But it got easier as I con-
tinued to make the calls. I did not want my blessings to be blocked and I wanted to be in right standing with God.
As a Christian, you are required to forgive anyone who have ever hurt you, manipulated you, talked about you, lied
on you, take your husband or wife away from you, killed a family member, etc. You must forgive them through
faith and God will help you through it. You can only do it with God's help.
Well, what is unforgiveness? It is not willing to forgive or excuse a person's faults or wrong doing. One morning
when I was getting ready for church, I was listening to a pastor teaching about unforgiveness. I stopped and
gave it my undivided attention. He was speaking directly to my heart. God always knows what you need to hear
to change your mind and heart. I learned that unforgiveness can make you sick, block your blessings, and it's a
sin. That person, you are not forgiving, is in control of you. He or she has moved on with their lives and you are
stuck in anger, bitterness and frustration. " For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heav-
enly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your
sins." Matthew 6:14-15
I also learned that because I was harboring unforgiveness, I was being tormented by the devil. He will use who-
ever I came in contact with.People would bump into me in the street, cut me off in traffic, spit in from of me, walk
across me and he (the devil) would use my spouse against me. After I got my heart right with God, I started for-
giving people immediately. I found that it released me from anger, bitterness and frustration. I'm free from being
tormented by people. It's now a pleasure to go out to shop and take care of my business. It is wonderful. Thank
God for Christian maturity!!
I'm so glad I turned the television on at the right time. God knew I was ready to receive the word, I had to
change my mind and heart. I wanted to be obedient to the word of God. It has changed my life completely. I'm
free!!! “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36

John Gill - (1697 - 1771), Eng-
lish Baptist, Biblical scholar,
staunch Calvinist
John Gill was born November
23, 1697 in Kettering, Northamp-
tonshire. In his youth, he attended
Kettering Grammar School, master-
ing the Latin classics and learning
Greek by age eleven. The young
scholar continued self-study in eve-
rything from logic to Hebrew. His
love for Hebrew would follow Gill
throughout his life.
At the age of about twelve, Gill
heard a sermon from his pastor,
William Wallis, on the text, "And
the Lord called unto Adam, and
said unto him, where
art thou?" (Genesis
3:9). The message
stayed with Gill and
eventually led to his
conversion. It was not
until seven years later
that young John made
a public profession when he was
almost nineteen years of age.
His first pastoral work was as an
intern assisting John Davis at
Higham Ferrers in 1718 at age
twenty one. He was subsequently
called to pastor the Strict Baptist
church at Goat Yard Chapel,
Horsleydown, Southwark in 1719.
In 1757, his congregation needed
larger premises and moved to a
Carter Lane, St. Olave‟s Street,
Southwark. His pastorate lasted 51
years. This Baptist Church would
later become the Metropolitan Tab-
ernacle pastored by Charles
Spurgeon. During Gill's ministry
the church strongly supported the
preaching of George Whitefield at
nearby Kennington Common.
In 1748, Gill was awarded the hon-
orary degree of Doctor of Divinity
by the University of Aberdeen. He
was a profound scholar and a pro-
lific author.

Christian Theologian— Dr. John Gill
Some say Judgment Day is May 21st or October 21st, or December 2012. The Bible
says, “No one knows the day nor the hour when Christ returns.” This, I believe, stands
true today. Instead of worrying about the date, we should focus on whether or not we are
prepared for the return. Too many of us must make changes that will put us in a position
to be worthy of Christ‟s return. Are we ready? Have we repented and asked for God‟s
mercy for the sins we have committed?
Will you be one of those staying behind after the Rapture? Have you accepted Christ?
This should be our concern, instead of the date. The date should be the least of your wor-
ries. If God wanted us to know the date, he would have put it in the Bible with everything
else He placed in there for us to live by. There are some things God did not want us to
know. Obviously the date of Jesus‟ return is one of them. There are people predicting the
date and as a result, people have been selling their possessions. When the predicted date
does not materialize, those people are left with nothing. One organization, which will re-
main nameless in this newsletter, has an estimated worth of $18,000,000.00. If the organi-
zation is predicting the end of the world, why would they need millions of dollars?
"Study to shew (show) thyself (yourself) approved unto God, a workman that needeth
not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" 2nd Timothy 2:15 - KJV. This verse
simply means that we should read and study the Bible. This process will allow us to not be
fooled by the wiles of the devil. Reading for yourself will allow God to help you to under-
stand and act upon His directions and lessons in His Word. Many people attend church
and wait for the preacher to divulge the Word of God. Unfortunately, it is important that
you read the Word for yourself. Whether you read or don‟t read for yourself, you are held
accountable. The excuse of not knowing about the Word will not be justifiable for God. I
am saying all of this to say that if you read the Word, you will know that not even Jesus
knows the date of His return.
So, lets focus on what we do know. We know that Jesus will return. We know God‟s
expectations for our lives based upon Bible principles. We must live by those principles
and be ready for whenever Jesus will return! Min. A.A.

bunch of letters scrambled together
to make a word. If you look pass all
the letters and look at the word‟s
meaning, you will realize that those
scrambled letters have power. It
truly takes a strong person to stand
against all the glitz and glamour of
the world and be different.
Following your own opinions and
doing what you want to do can be
very dangerous for teens. Coming
from my own experience, being my-
self made others treat me very cru-
elly, but I learned not to let it
bother me. This treatment showed
me that if this is how they treat
people who do not follow their way
of thinking, why would I want to
follow them? When I have a hard
time trying to be myself, I think of
Martin Luther King, Jr. Everyone
knows that Dr. King is one of the
famous civil rights leaders. Well,
Dr. King took all kinds of cruelty
for wanting equal rights for all peo-
ple and in the end it cost him his
life, but his death was not in vain
because people do have the same
rights today. Dr. King is just one of
the many leaders that have fought
for what they believed in such as:
Fredrick Douglas, Rosa Parks, Mal-
colm X, and Abraham Lincoln.
What, I want you to get from this
article is to be strong, be coura-
geous, and be the leader of your
own life.
