Visa Application Information

Step 2 : Decide which type of visa suits your requirements:

Third party nationals from the countries above must apply for a Schengen type C

visa if they want to visit Malta for less than 90 days.

Third party nationals from the following countries who want to visit Malta for more

than 90 days must:

1. Apply for a Schengen C type visa (up to 90 days) and

2. Apply for a fixed term residence permit (Malta only) for the duration of

the course beyond 90 days. Fixed term Residence Permits cannot be extended.

Step 4: Collect all this information for your application and send in your application

to the embassy or consulate nearest to you.

Typically you will need the following when applying for a visa:

• Passport

• Copy of the main page of the passport

• One passport-size photograph

• Application form

• Invitation letter in original (no email, no fax) mentioning personal and passport

details of the applicant/s, duration of the stay, duration of the course, cost and

whether the total fee of the course has been paid or not ( AClass Academy of English will send you this once you pay for your course)

• Confirmation of payment of the course

• Confirmation of the place where the applicant will stay (hotel, family, friends etc)

• Flight reservation or copy of ticket from your country to Malta

• Medical insurance

• Financial guaranty (minimum 28 Euro per day of stay)

• Certificate of personal address in your country

• Family information

Approximate visa fee: 82USD up to 90 days, 102 USD more than 90 days

Third country nationals who require a visa for Malta can opt for a student visa or aSchengen visa. The difference is that a standard student visa (non-Schengen) is valid for

travel to Malta only and a Schengen visa is valid for travel within the whole Schengen

zone (28 countries including 25 EU states).

A Standard Visa (non-Schengen visa) can be extended without the need to leave the

country. The Schengen visa is not extendable at all.

All documents required from AClass Academy of English will be sent to you only when

we have received payment. If the visa is then refused and you let us know in writing at

least one week before your arrival date we will refund the full sum of money (excludingany bank charges).

If the visa is refused and you inform us less than 1 week before your arrival date, a

cancellation fee of 1 week accommodation and tuition will apply.

Since some embassies require the original documents (not faxed or emailed) we will

courier (DHL) the original documents to you. The price for this is of €80 – this fee should be included in the original payment of course and accommodation booked.
