Jacob Kennedy For having a Growth Mindset and working hard at being a great reader. Spelling Bee On Wednesday 19 October, The Karearea Team held its annual Spelling Bee. The audience were entertained by very close compeon unl eventually the winners were decided. Overall winner was Zoe Bullock with the runner up being Sophia Bedwell. For many of our community, ming for the proposed food fesval did not work. We have therefore decided to postpone this event to 23 rd March next year. This was the me of year we held our last food fesval, which was extremely successful. Our hope is that it will work beer for our community to generously support us with their me and experse. As we are currently looking at classes for next year, please let us know of any future enrolments or if you will be moving on for 2017. Mission Appeal for Rio Thank you to all who supported the muſti/wheels day appeal. James Roy took over to Rio a range of sports equipment for an impoverished school. The school had 3 shiſts of 400 students who had a playground the size of our netball court, with no equipment. They taught children games and the joy these games bring. Tena Koutou Katoa Greetings Parents/Caregivers/Whanau Hope you all had an enjoyable Labour weekend. For many of our community, timing for the proposed food festival did not work. We have therefore decided to postpone this event to 23rd March next year. This was the time of year we held our last food festival, which was extremely successful. Our hope is that it will work better for our community to generously support us with their time and expertise. Te Manawa—Dinosaur Exhibition Last week the Ruru team visited the dinosaur exhibition at Te Mananwa in Palmerston North. Room 7 Well I have never seen anything like the dinosaur exhibition in my life. Ryder The dinosaur exhibition was breath taking. Piper Wow the dinosaur freaked me out because they looked so real. Celebrating Success Congratulations to

Marshall Littlefair who competed in the National Judo

Championships in Auckland recently. Marshall completed a strong season finishing 2nd in the Junior Boys under 32kg grade. Well done
