Every team will be oered a space every edition of the Newsletter to submit something funny... write about their game... whatever... and since we’re doing a newsletter every Tuesday of every week, you have plenty of time to come up with something! If your team doesn’t submit anything, and isn’t in the newsletter, talk to your captain!

Ideas for Team Submissions When I say, submit something for your team, here are some ideas: • Play by plays of the game • Document the debauchery at the bar - i.e. describing someone’s amazing acting skills hobbling across the bar with a “sprained ankle” just to Ice a teammate. ] • Draw pictures!!!!! • Favorite quotes, poems, song lyrics, movie scripts, YouTube video, or motivational speeches! • Email chains from the morning after . • Funny pictures of you, your team, or something random on the internet • Give your team member awards - drunkest, loudest, person with the least shame, best o the face catch, etc.! • Anything. Really. Someone on your team is creative.

Submissions are due EVERY Monday by 7 p.m.

TEAM WRITE-UPS

Wiff It Good at Multiple Scorgasms A very high scoring game between both teams. EVERYONE in our team did really well!!! Multiple Scorgasms (MS) took an earlier lead and we were chasing them at 4-2 at the end of the first inning. The next innings, we step it up a notch with awesome base running by Captain "Shirts are here" Katy and rookie "Why is my base coach yelling at me to go home?" Lily. Power Hitter "I like to slide at home no-matter-what" Antonio smack one over the fence with a runner at one. End of the third, we were now up by four points. Our defense held MS to a minimum scoring with a double play performance by "I can't believe she's running" Terrence. "I'll jump, duck and then cover" Erin had first base locked and was wreaking havoc at bat. Even one of her accidently pop up cause destruction by making MS first baseman plow over their catcher. We manage to hold them in the last inning to take the win. It was really a great and fun game. Thank you Multiple Scorgasms for competi-tion and great sportsmanship!

Wiffleholics Anonymous at Wiff It Good Our game started out with us accidently flexing our muscles by letting some of our girls showing Wiffleholics Anonymous (WA) that all our girls can drill the ball to the outfield. We thought we were waiting for them and then realized that they were waiting on us to start the game because they thought we wanted to practice first. haha. "Sand Footwear" Erin struck the first dagger with a lone home run over the top turnbuckle. Our lineup managed to score two more to make it 3-0. WA held us to that score until the fourth inning where we rallied again. Everyone in our team scored except a teammate who I will protect his identity because he struck out. His initial is "T!!!!!!". :D I would like to note a crushing missile home run that barely missed the pier made by "Pitch me the ball shoulder chest level and away from my body please" Stryker. Our defense was on point that game including a remarkable job by "one half of Team Denosta" Marc as catcher. I would also like to recognized "Most Improved Player" Jessica who take advantage of last week's game cancellation by practic-ing all day in the cold and rain. Wiffleholics Anonymous never gave up during the game and showed really good sportsmanship. Thanks for the fun game. :)

Sh*ts and WifflesWell, we figured out how to score some runs this time, we got some bighits, and scored 12 runs… but they scored 13… and we couldnʼt musterup one run in the bottom of the sixth to extend the game. James, almost single-handedly beat with at least two bombs and he may havehad one more… the back breaker was the grand slam in the 5th to putthem up one… it turned out to be the game winner. Our bats came alivethis week, and once we figure out some defense we will be right nearthe top of the standings, no doubt in my mind. Zach Sheller came upbig with a blast in the second inning to keep the game close. Tocci,Zach, Susie, Nick and Neil each had two runs scored, I think it wasour 5 hitter that killed us… I left a small army stranded on thebasepaths, might need to have batting practice with James this week.

TEAM WRITE-UPS

Victorious So although we were extremely short-handed, Victorious was still able to pull out a 6 - 1 win over Nannerpus. Chris Snyder (Nannerpus) was definitely the best player on our team all day. He helped us out by keeping the pitches out of the strike zone...just playing bud! Charm "speedster" Reyes (Robbie's new pet name for her, the one he's allowed to say in public anyway) played both left and centerfield, covering lot's of ground even though at times it was covered by her team-mates. It was great meeting our new teammate Joe who found his swing and ripped a line drive to short. Big shout outs to Kate and Jeff too!!!

Page 7: Virginia Beach Wiffleball Spring 2012 Issue 2

Nanerpus & the Fish Stix

Yeah... We didn’t really bring our a-game..a few people short and lets be honest- Charm knows how to throw-down. Its okay- we sure as heck know how to party... WHAT!WHAT! We’ll be bringing back the gun showthis weekend. We plan on puting the DOMINATE... in DOMINATION... HA HA HA! I’ve used that line TWICE now... Props to VS!

NOTORIOUS

WIFF

Notorious WIFF vs. Sh*ts and Wiffles Must we wait til the last minute to have a full squad to play with. Must we have 3 players over-sleep the game. Must the sun only come out when wiffle ball is played at the Oceanfront. I shall yes to all three! We played with 6 girls and 3 guys and it was enough to pull a one-point win against Sh!ts and Wiffles. The only thing I can't stand is Jessica Tocci's line drives down 3rd base...someday I'll be able to stop them! Everyone contributed to the win. Here are some key plays: Sandy's catch in the outfield, Richard at 1st, and Dom's "almost" homerun. I'll count it in my books...it curved foul after passing the poles. I had a couple homeruns myself: a grandslam and a 2-run homerun. This has been my first game of the season and I still haven't met everyone. Awesome team so far! Great game by all.

Sandy Balls

Hello, I'm Kathy and I admit, I'm a wiffleholic. There's something about hanging out with your teammates and having fun in the sand. Laughing and just having a great time is addicting. It doesn't matter that we lost both games, we had a blast. The Wiffleholics kept their positivity up throughout the game and showed that they were determined as they dived for the ball in the sand. The team will be using a bit more strategy this upcoming Sunday and will make a come back. Wiffleholics remember we are great because we know how to smile :) Also, I'm not sure if I want help with this addiction of playing in the sand, hanging out with teammates, and having a few select beverages after the game.... I am wiffleholic for life.

That was quite a comeback for Sandy Balls. After forfeiting two games on April 15th (Crush Fest), Sandy Balls showed what they are capable of. Thanks to Alex we had enough girls on the team. She also showed her amaz-ing skills in the outfield by catching a ball in the 3rd inning. Eddie had a special relationship with the balls during the game. They were flying right into his hands and he paid them back by cuddling with one for longer than he was supposed to in the 4th inning. I don't remember exactly how many points we scored in the 6th inning, but it was enough for us not to worry about losing to "Smack My Beach Up" for the rest of the game. 11-3! Great job, Sandy Balls!!!

Make It Rain vs Wiffleholic Annonymous This game went by really quick. We started late and ended 20 minutes early. Both teams struggle from the get go. MIR started to swing the bat and was hitting that wiffle ball over the field around the 4th inning after that we pulled away with a slight lead. Wiffleholic Annonymous is a new team and they will take their lumps for the rest of the season. They just need to figure out the game and find a consistent pitcher. Maybe some team prac-tices at the beach will help. Overall this team was fun to play....you guys just need to pick up some team spirit. Jon Reyes
