EVENT GUIDE

Viper Challenge 2015 happening this 14th-15th March 2015 is again set at Sepang International Circuit. This year participants will experience a challenging and varied route ranging from oil palm plantation, jungle terrain to lake crossings and over 80 meters of elevated quarry. 2015’s Viper Challenge course route is set over 20km and offers 20 obstacles.

CHECK-IN AND START WAVE Saturday & Sunday’s Check In procedures are IDENTICAL.

PLEASE READ BELOW TO BE CLEAR ON THE CHECK IN PROCEDURE AND WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM YOU.

Registration opens at 4.00am and will close at 9.00am. The first start wave will be released at 6.00am and every 15 minutes thereafter until the final start wave sets off at 9.30am.

This is the SAME for both Saturday and Sunday’s events.

You must be ready to register 2 hours prior to your assigned Start Time. YES this does mean that if your start time is 6.00am, you need to aim to arrive at 4.00am. This is due to our large number of participants, registration needs time to process and identify each and every participant with their photo identification before they can proceed. NO ID NO ENTRY. Viper Check In/Registration is a strictly enclosed area where only those with a valid Viper Challenge E-Ticket and ID can enter.

For example: If your start time is 8.00am, you must aim to arrive at 6.00am. If your start time is 8:40am your time of arrival should be 6:40am etc.When you Check In, you will be given a Wristband which will grant you entry into the Start Line area. Without your wristband, you will not be allowed into this closed off area so make sure you put it on securely. Wristband must be worn at all times. NO WRISTBAND NO ENTRY.

Once Checked In, you can then deposit your personal belongings at our Baggage Drop. You may spend the rest of your wait time checking out the Start/Finish area , which includes restrooms as well as product and food vendors, or warming up and strategising with your team mates.

Course Sweep Participants who have not completed 50% of the course by 2.00pm on either Saturday or Sunday, will unfortunately be stopped in their tracks and driven to the finish line by our Course Crew.

SPECTATORS Spectating is free and need not to register to enter the event. The only area where spectators will not be permitted is the closed off Start Line area and obviously the Viper Challenge track itself! Spectators may take photos from the sidelines, provided they stay behind the course route tape.

finding your way there & PARKING Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is very accessible by car. Just search for it using navigational devices or apps such as Waze or Google Maps and you’ll find your way there. Parking bays will be available once you enter SIC and you’ll be guided by the Officials there.Parking is very LIMITED. To reduce the risk of being late and missing your Start Time due to lack of parking, we strongly suggest for you to carpool.

Please do not park at the roadside (yellow line) as you might incur a Traffic Summon.Viper Challenge 2015 does not provide any transportation services.

WHAT TO WEAR Essentials :- Proper shoes designed to handle rough terrains (trail running shoes such as from Salomon)- Comfortable t-shirt- Comfortable shorts/track pants Recommended :- Compression gear for protection against cuts and bruises- Gloves - Hydration Pack - Sunscreen as you’ll be under prolonged sun exposure at some parts of the course DO NOT Wear :- Anything valuable (expensive watches, jewellery, wallets, smartphones)- Loose items such as spectacles that can come off when you fall into water

WHAT TO Bring Compulsory :- E-ticket (printed out or saved inside your smartphone)- Photo ID such as IC or Passport (preferably photocopied or saved in your smartphone)- Lots of Energy & Enthusiasm! Recommended : - Extra set of clothing, towel to clean and change post-event- CASH to buy food, drinks, products offered by our Vendors

POST-EVENT After the gruelling 20km and 20+ Obstacles you will be greeted by the ever smiling Viper Crew to hand out your Finisher Medal and T-shirt that you very much deserve. You will also receive Revive drinks to hydrate yourself.

With your Wristband, you can collect your belongings at the Baggage Drop and then clean yourself off at the designated Male or Female Wash Down Zone with accompanying tents for changing before proceeding to check out what our Vendors had to offer. Please bring adequate Cash to enjoy the food, drinks and products as well as activities provided by our Vendors.

Do take as many photos as you can so when you go back you can relive the fantastic memories of you conquering your fear, your fatigue and the fearsome Obstacles of Viper Challenge 2015.

medical services The Medical Services offered during Viper Challenge are in charge of serious cases of injuries and medical emergencies. They will not prioritise any cases of: - Muscle cramps- Minor cuts & bruises- Minor sprains & strains Those mentioned above are not a medical emergencies.

Weather Viper Challenge Start Times will be delayed if there is any visible lightning around the area until it clears.We will notify and announce constant weather and scheduling updates whenever it is required.

If you are caught out at the Course when there are thunder and lightning, here are a few simple Rules that you can remember:

- Avoid small shelter such as tents or tall structures including trees as well as open areas.- Take cover under lower uniform trees or nearby substantial buildings.- Apply the 30:30 Rule. Count the time from the lightning strike to its accompanying thunder. If it’s under 30 secs that means the lightning is less than 10km away and you need to immediately go to a safer place. Wait 30 mins until the last thunder clap before continuing the Course.
