    Saety eatures

This system has several important saety eatures to ensure proper op-eration o the motor and prevent accidental damage to the engine orits components.

Starter anti-grind circuitryWhenever the vehicle is remote started, advanced anti-grind circuitryprevents the starter rom engaging, even i the key is turned to the start

position. This prevents damage to the starter motor i the key is turnedto the start position during remote start operation.

Note:Anti-grind circuitry only works when the remote start system isoperating the motor and the Failsafe Starter Kill relay is installed.

Disabling the remote start systemThis eature allows the remote start unit to be temporarily disabled toprevent the vehicle rom being remote started accidentally. This eatureis useul when the vehicle is being serviced or stored in an enclosedarea.

To disable the remote start, move the shutdown toggle switch to the OFFposition. Check with your installer or the location.

    Diagnostics

The microprocessor at the heart o your system is constantly monitoringall o the switches and sensors connected to it. It is designed to detect

any aulty switches and sensors and prevent them rom disabling theentire system. The microprocessor will also record and report any trig-gers that occurred during your absence.

Reer to System Status Chirps and Table o Zones sections o this guideor diagnostic inormation.

Last triggerPress three times and then hold or 1.5 seconds. The display scrollslast trigger and the remote recalls the last zone that has triggered thesecurity system.

ArmingI the security system is armed at the same time that an input is active(such as a door opening or sensor triggering), you will hear one sirenchirp to indicate arming and a second siren chirp to indicate BypassNotication.

A Bypass Notication chirp means that the security system ignoresthe input that was active when the system was armed, until that inputceases. Three seconds ater that input ceases, the security system willresume normal monitoring. For example: if your vehicle has an interior light exit delay and you armyour security system beore the interior light turns o, you may hear asecond Bypass Notication chirp.Once the light turns o, the security system resumes normal monitor-ing.

Note: Bypass Notication does not occur when the system is in SilentMode or i the notication chirps have been programmed o by theinstaller.

DisarmingExtra chirps heard when disarming the system are the Tamper Alert.I our chirps are heard when disarming the system, then the securitysystem was triggered in your absence.

I ve chirps are heard when disarming the system, the system was

triggered so many times that the Nuisance Protection Circuitry hasbypassed the intended zone. In either case, the status LED will indicatewhich zone was involved (see Table o Zones).

The security system will retain this inormation in its memory, and chirpfour or ve times each time it is disarmed, until the next time that theignition is turned on.

Note concerning low battery alert: When the batteries in the remoteare low the alarm will give an additional chirp when disarming to letyou know its time to change the battery in the remote.

For example: I zone 3 was active or triggered, the LED will blink threetimes with a two-second pause. Then it will blink three times again, andrepeat until the ignition is turned on.

Nuisance prevention circuitryYour system has Directeds Nuisance Prevention Circuitry (NPC). Itprevents annoying repetitive trigger sequences due to aulty door pinswitches or environmental conditions such as thunder, jackhammers, airport noise, etc.

For example:I the alarm triggers three times within a 60-minute periodand each time the same sensor or switch triggers the alarm, NPC willinterpret those triggers as alse alarms. Ater the third trigger, NPC ig-nores, or bypasses, that sensor or switch (along with any other sensorsor switches sharing the same zone) or 60 minutes.

I the bypassed sensor tries to trigger the security system while it is beingbypassed, the 60-minute bypass period will start over. This ensures thata sensor that is continually being triggered will remain bypassed.

The vehicle doors are protected by NPC dierently. I your securitysystem is triggered by an open door or three ull cycles, the system willbypass the doors until the trigger ceases.

Remote StartThis system can provide you with inormation to indicate what the problem iswhen using the remote start. When the remote start is activated and ails toengage, count the parking light fashes to determine the problem. The parkinglights will fash between 5 - 8 times to indicate what caused the no start situa-tion. 5 ashes: brake wire is active 6 ashes: hood pin is active

    Rapid resume logic

This Directed system will store its current state to non-volatile memory.

For example, if the unit is in Valet Mode and the battery is disconnectedor any reason, such as servicing the car, when the battery is recon-nected the unit will still be in Valet Mode. This applies to all states of thesystem including arm, disarm, and Valet Mode.

    Power saver mode

    System

Your system will automatically enter Power Saver Mode while armed orin Valet Mode, after a period of time in which no operation has beenperormed. This lowers the current draw on the vehicles battery. PowerSaver Mode takes over under the ollowing conditions:

Power Saver when the system is armed: Ater the system has beenarmed or 24 hours the LED will fash at hal its normal rate, decreasingthe systems current draw.

Power Saver in Valet Mode: When the system enters Valet Mode theStatus LED on the Responder LE control center illuminates steadily. I thevehicle is not used (ignition is not turned on) or a one hour period whilethe system is in Valet Mode, the status LED will shut off. If the system
