The vintage deck has a very distinct coloring to it. Notice the wand on the table is green in the vintage deck, in the new version it is brownish. The snake around his waist is a dark bluish color. In the new version it is white/light gray. The skin tone of The Magician is dark in the vintage, lighter in the new. The coloring of the plants is also different, in the vintage there is a stronger green tone. Also on the top right of the new version you have the ® next to “The Rider Tarot Pack”, clearly this is after US Games copyright.

On the back of the box you can see that the fonts are different, the vintage has more of a hand writing look to it, the new version has a computer font. The vintage says Printed in Switzerland by Muller & Cie (AMG Muller), the new deck says Switzerland but not from Muller. U.S. Games Systems INC is included on the new version and a website. The one big key this is the new version has ™, © and ® on them, if you see a deck with these it is NOT vintage.
