Paul Hobbs Seminar Next Week!

Paul Hobbs'résumé makes youwonder why heisn't on the tip ofwine drinkers'tongues along withHelen Turley ofMarcassin, SteveKistler of KistlerVineyards andother innovativeCalifornia winemakers.

Paul Hobbs, the second oldest of 11 children, Hobbsgrew up on a farm near Lake Ontario, in western NewYork, but moved west to study winemaking at theUniversity of California, Davis. After working atand consulting for a number of prominent Californiaproducers, he started his own label with the 1991vintage, eventually adding his own winery and vineyardin the Russian River Valley. Hobbs also worksextensively in South America, where he is a partnerin Argentina's Viña Cobos, and consults for otherwineries, including Chile's Odfjell, MontGras, ViñaSan Pedro and Viña Tarapacá.

Working as winemaker at Robert Mondavi and OpusOne for seven years, and then six years as winemakerat Simi, Paul Hobbs started his own winery in 1991and actively consults for many more.

Italian-American Club 27th AnnualPasta Festival!

The Italian-American Club of theCSRA will have their 27th AnnualPasta Festival on Friday,February 25 at the Hellenic Centerof the Greek Orthodox Church at thecorner of 10th and Telfair St inAugusta.

The Italian-American Club supports many localcharities with the funds raised by this festival.

They will have two times available that day plus take-out. Tickets are $8 and the menu will be Spaghettiwith meatballs or sausage, tossed salad, rolls andtea. Various Italian pastries and cookies will alsobe available too.

Lunch will be 11:00 - 2:00

Dinner will be 4:30 - 8:00
