To view the TV segment shown on Channel 11’s Great Day Houston: http://www.khou.com/great-day/videos/gdh_12-18-13-seg2-236408511.html. Shown in photo left to right: Great Day Houston's Courtney Perna, CCS high school student Landen Nealy, middle school teacher and Red Apple Award winner Mrs. Jean Hinn, and Landen's mom, Kristi Nealy. Please click through the photo gallery for more fun pictures of the presentation.

"Stuart Little" opened to smiling audiences as middle school drama students presented this beloved story. The cast received rave reviews after each of their performances, and audience members were delighted with the effects created by Director Blythe Kirkwood’s

clever staging. This is the story of a little mouse who faced adventures big and small with courage and heart, trying to survive in a “real people’s world.” The students tackled this play in the same way, with courage and heart. Director Blythe Kirkwood commented.

We are women who prayer together on a regular basis for children and schools, as an interdenominational, Christ centered prayer ministry – moms, grandmas, aunts, any women desiring to pray for children and schools, whether public, private or homeschool, from preschool to college. Praying together provides hope and strength to moms who carry burdens for their children.

Our purpose is to pray for our children, teachers, staff and schools – to pray that our schools will be directed by biblical values and high moral standards.

We have a small core group of ladies already meeting together in prayer! If you are interested in joining our newly formed Moms in Prayer group, we meet on Monday mornings at 9:00 a.m. For more information, contact Kyla Bayang at [email protected].

The Neighborhood Yahoo Group is used to quickly communicate information as needed concerning issues, requests, lost/found pets and events that affect our neighborhood.   Neighbors (Villages of Northpointe residents only) can join the group by contacting Debbie Parker at [email protected] or they can make a request through the Yahoo Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NorthpointeNeighborhood.

Friends, Countrymen, lend me your ear. News from the MUD board is good as we once again have reviewed the debt load of the district and combined with the increased tax base we are able to announce a reduction in the tax rate. (OK English teachers…that probably is a run-on sentence but I am typing too fast to go back) Specifically a 12 cent reduction which is the largest we’ve been able to accomplish. This translates to a savings of $300 per year on a $250.000 home. It ain’t much, but it ain’t chickenfeed either! We will continue to assess our bond issues on an annual basis and any opportunity to reduce your tax burden will be taken up with great vigor and diligence.

On another note, the trash/recycle receptacle change over is complete and aside from some displeasure at the size of the bins this program has been accepted. I will admit that it does make the neighborhood nicer without all the trash blowing around. And the recycling has increased dramatically so there’s another plus. I hope it’s working out for you and if you have any issues

with same please bring them to my attention. And finally the toll way construction is going full speed

(or hadn’t you noticed?!). We’ve had some updates on road construction schedules too numerous to mention but suffice it to say these projects are fully funded and will proceed very rapidly. The board would like to ask all of you to please be careful in these construction zones. There have been a few accidents already and patience is the watchword here. Your safety is more important than your position in the Chick-Fil-A drive thru. Take care all and we’ll be back to you soon with more from the board.

A chuckle for your attention to the above is in order…to wit:I was in Walmart on the clearance aisle, saw a TV for $20

bucks. A sign said “volume stuck on full”, I thought, “I can’t turn that down!”

Suckers! See you next time. Paul Hicks,
