warm up with pastini’s winter pasta specials! Chef and co-owner Craig Bashel has just introduced two delicious seasonal dishes, in addition to the 30 classic and contemporary pastas on the pastini menu. these savory specials will have you hoping that the chilly weather stays around for a while longer.

Chicken Cacciatore with rigatoni combines a slow-simmered natural chicken thigh and leg with a traditional cacciatore sauce of tomatoes, cremini and porcini mushrooms, carrots, red and yellow peppers and white wine. hearty rigatoni is the perfect pasta shape to accompany this traditional winter dish.

For their Ziti with winter squash & gorgonzola sauce, cubes of butternut squash are roasted until tender, then added to a sauce of leeks, garlic, gorgonzola and cream and finished with a sprinkling of toasted sage breadcrumbs. the delicate sweetness of the squash contrasts beautifully with the tangy gorgonzola and crunchy sage topping. Bravo!

since valentine’s Day is almost here (and st. valentino was italian), consider sharing a wine from pastini’s well-curated list with your sweetheart for valentine’s dinner. they offer bottles from both stellar Northwest wineries and small, family-owned vineyards in italy. or choose a handmade drink from the list of pastini italian Cocktails, like the Bella Berry Martini or a sparkling peach Bellini.

why are yoU passioNate aBoUt FashioN?i love fashion especially for young girls because it gives them an opportunity to express themselves and build their confidence. a great outfit can help girls feel good about themselves. i am grateful that our store is a way for girls to find their personal style and grow into great young women.

what is yoUr Favorite proDUCt? My favorite product is the Joe’s Chelsea Jean, it is the a great universal fitting skinny jean in a dark wash, it goes with everything. i also love the emu Cross Boot, these boots are great because they have fur on the inside but a much more structured, pulled together look than your typical emu Boot. they are comfy, yet durable. My favorite gift in the store is our bamboo scarves, they are so affordable at $18. they are so soft and come in great prints.

BestselliNg proDUCt? our best selling product is our headbands. we have a few different kinds but the sparkle ones sell the best. they are $7-$10. also, we just started carrying local brand geranium girls, they are basic elastic headbands and they are made by 10 and 12 year old sisters in Bend.
