October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. More than 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the United States. It is the second most common kind of cancer in women. Pennsylvania has the fifth highest rate of breast cancer in the United States with approximately 11,000 women in Pennsylvania diagnosed each year. About one in 8 women born in the United States will get breast cancer at some point. The good news is that most women can survive breast cancer if it’s found and treated early. The importance of early detection cannot be stressed enough. Size matters, and smaller tumors are less invasive and more treatable. National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a chance to raise awareness about the early detection. Dr. Eisen, Radiation Oncologist at the Clarion Hospital, and the Laurels will host a breast cancer awareness seminar on Thursday, October 12, at 11:30 am in the Multipurpose Room at Laurelbrooke Landing. Please join us for this informative presentation. Breast Cancer Awareness
