o

Reaction to Fire:• Non-combustible material according to BS476 Part 4

• Based on testing completed by CSIRO Division of Forest Products and Ensis Australia James Hardie building products have demonstrated resistance to termite attack.

THERMAL PROPERTIESo

• Certified by Green Building Council of Australia as environmentally sustainable, commercial internal building products.

GREEN LABELo

Thermal Conductivity:• Thermal Conductivity of 0.3120 W/mK as per results of ASTM C518:2010.

MOLD RESISTANCEo

• Test results in accordance with ASTM D3273-00 concluded that there was no mold growth on the Villaboard® lining resulting in a perfect rating of 10, with ten representing no mold growth on the surface.

TERMITE RESISTANCEo

FUNGUS RESISTANCEo

• ASTM G21-15 Standard Practice for Determining Resistance of Synthetic Polymeric Materials to Fungi wherein James Hardie Villaboard® Lining shows a favourable performance.

Average Face Screw Withdrawal Strength : 79.0 N/mmResistance to Axial Withdrawal of Screws:

Resistance to Moisture / Rotting: • Villaboard® Lining has demonstrated resistance to permanent moisture induced deterioration (rotting) by passing the following tests in accordance with ASTM C1185:08(2012);

Average Flexural / Bending Strength Tranverse Direction : 10.74MPa Longitudinal Direction : 19.31MPa

PHYSICAL & MOISTURE RELATED PROPERTIES

Water Absorption : 29.7% Moisture Movement : 0.021%

*The way fibre cement sheets are produced, the grain direction of the cellulose fibre is typically along the direction of the sheet. That means that typically the fibre direction is in the same direction as the long edge of the sheet. The characteristic flexural strength in the ‘a’ direction is typically stronger, as the rupture is occuring across the grain length. The ‘b direction is tested along the length of the cellulose fibres, therefore is typically lower than the ’a’ direction.

o

Moisture Content Tranverse Direction : 0.14% Longitudinal Direction : 0.09%

Watertightness : No formation of drops of water on the underside of the sheet

Dimensional Conformance : Passed

Heat- Rain Durability: • Villaboard® Lining was tested in accordance with BS EN 12467-12 assessment method 7.4.2., results show there were no visible cracks, delamination, warping or bowing or other defects in the sheets that were sufficient to affect their in-use performance after 50 heat rain cycles.

Warm Water Resistance: • Villaboard® Lining was tested in accordance with BS EN 12467-12 assessment method 7.3.5 adopted in water bath in excess of lime. Villaboard® Lining met the BS EN criteria.

DURABILITYo

Soak-Dry: • Villaboard® Lining was tested in accordance with BS EN 12467-12 assessment method 7.3.6 deter-mined at the 95% confidence levels RL was found to be not less than 0.75 after 50 cycles. Villaboard® Lining met the BS EN criteria.

• Results showed that Villaboard® Lining complied with the Thickness Swelling and has a superior perfor-mance values in accordance with BS EN 317:1993 requirements.

Average Thickness Swelling : 0.03%

THICKNESS SWELLINGo

BREATHABILITYo

Average Water Vapour Transmission : 19 grains/ft2 hr Average Permeance : 46 perms

*Wall cavities do get wet, roofs leak, condensation occurs, plumbing leaks, construction materials are installed wet and internal moisture load can be very high. Walls get wet and require a way to dry out. When a wall cannot dry out, it becomes vulnerable to moisture-induced damage including mold and rot.

• In accordance with ASTM E96:2005 Standard Test Methods for Water Vapour Transmission of Materials, results showed that Villaboard® Lining has a superior performance values.
