Fr. Michael Senfuma Visits St. Theresa On the Solemnity of St. Joseph, all middle school classes had a special guest visit their Religion
classes. Fr. Michael Senfuma is a pastor of a parish in Uganda, Africa. He shared with the stu-
dents a little bit about his life and country, as well as what the Catholic Church looks like in Af-
rica. He said, "Faith comes from the heart, not the head!" Fr. Michael has such a contagious zeal
for the faith and will be in Houston for the rest of March preaching, teaching and sharing the
Gospel with Gulf Coast Texans. We also found out that Fr. Michael is a recording artist and has
an incredible voice!

What is the Origin of St. Patrick’s Day?
By: Sean B. and David R.
Saint Patrick was born in Roman, Britain. But when he was a child, he was kid-
napped and brought into slavery in Ireland. He later escaped to a monastery in
Gaul, France, and converted to a Christian. He went back to Ireland in 432 as a mis-
sionary. While Christianity was legal in the country, he confronted the Druids at
Terra, and then encouraged them to give up their Pagan rights which made Christi-
anity worldwide. After his death, he was named Ireland’s patron saint and it was
then that he used a three-leaf clover to describe the Trinity.

‘Spock” Actor Leonard Nimoy Dies
1931—2015
Leonard Nimoy, the actor best known for portraying the character Spock in the television and
movie series Star Trek, has died at the age of 83 from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, a
condition he attributed to a smoking habit he had given up approximately 30 years ago. On Feb-
ruary 19, 2015, having been in and out of hospitals for the past several months, Nimoy was taken
to UCLA Medical Center for chest pains. A few days before his death, Nimoy shared some of his
poetry on social media website Twitter: "A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but
not preserved, except in memory.”

St. Theresa Softball 2015
For the past six years, something has been missing
in the St. Theresa sporting options—Softball! To-
gether with Ms. Chaumont, Ms. Hasson has resur-
rected the Lady Vikings Softball Team!
To date, they have only played two games, each
time showing amazing improvement! While most of
the team’s games have been rained out, the extra
practice time has been most welcomed.
We invite everyone to come support the Lady Vi-
kings—especially at these upcoming home games:
April 7th vs. Assumption
April 8th vs. St. Ambrose
April 9th vs. St. Rose

St. Theresa Baseball 2015
The 2015 St. Theresa baseball season is off to a
good start with a 2-0 season; both wins were
against St. Anne Tomball. The first games score
was 4-2. The game was close at the start, but it
became clear who would win when the 4th run
was scored for the Vikings. The next game,
however, was a little bit more suspenseful. St.
Anne came out and got 2 runs in the same in-
ning, bringing the score to 2-0, but was later
tied. The Vikings later scored 2 more runs and
brought the score to 5-2. The score did not
change the rest of the game. If the Vikings can
pull out some more wins they might make it to
the play-offs. Let’s hope the team can keep this
win streak alive!
