Students LOVE IT
An Overview
Lino.it’ – is colourful and very quick and easy to teach students to use. It’s ideal for project and presentation work. It gives students more control and encourages both collaborative and
autonomous learning. It provided an excellent vehicle for use as a ‘digital portfolio’ which, at the
very least, could cut down on printing, possibly saving the college a substantial amount.
It encourages learners to become more participative. This contributes to retaining student involvement and interest thereby
increasing their retention.
Links to Strategic Plan 2013-14
This technology can help the college the following objectives in their Strategic Plan 2013-14:
SO2 - To provide responsive, efficient and enterprising education and training.
SO3 - To develop and provide an inclusive learning environment that is safe, supportive and focussed on success
SO6 - To attract, develop, support and retain a highly skilled and professional workforce who work collectively to deliver the College’s strategic priorities.
SO7 - To stabilise finances, improve financial information, income generation and efficiency at every level of the College.
Lino.it is not in itself a replacement for existing teaching techniques rather it is a tool for enhancing them.
A college which manages to achieve the balance between these will no doubt attract new students and retain existing ones all of which can only enhance its reputation.
