Office: St. Paul Campus, Student Affairs(travel to other campuses required based upon need)

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8am-4:30pm, with some evening and weekend hours required based upon need

Minimum Position Qualifications:The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:

Graduation from a recognized two-year interpreting program or R.I.D. certification is required. Two years of experience interpreting in a postsecondary environment Proficiency in American Signed Exact English, American Sign Language, and Accurate Signed English,

and demonstrated mastery of specialized and technical signs appropriate to a University setting. Excellent written and oral English skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a diverse population in a

positive, courteous, helpful manner to deliver services

Knowledge and application of the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct and American with Disabilities Act

Basic skills in computer applications including word processing with the ability and willingness to learn new systems

The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Regular and punctual attendance; the incumbent is expected to work a varied work schedule including

evenings and weekends Physical stamina to effectively provide interpreting services

Preferred Qualifications:(These are typically soft skills that are preferred, but not essential to do the job and will be screened by the Search Committee through phone and on-campus interviews/presentations, and references – hard to screen “off paper credentials”. They would also include more years of experience than the minimum qualification listed. For example, if you listed 2 years of teaching experience in the minimums, then you would state “More than 2 years of teaching experience” under preferred, so you can screen more thoroughly.)Please use the below as a guide.

College level preparation or B.S./B.A. Three years of experience supervising office services staff Three years of experience working at a managerial level responsible for maintain budget controls Experience in a higher education institution Ability to investigate situations and develop, analyze and select courses of action, negotiate solutions,

and make decisions. Evidence of the ability to manage and complete projects, prioritize work and manage multiple projects

simultaneously, attend to detail, anticipate office needs, and meet deadlines. Computer knowledge at an intermediate level in word processing, spreadsheets, database

management, and email systems is required. (MS Word, MS Excel, Access, and Outlook preferred).
