Maple Class Home Work Y1a Set: Thursday 23.3.17 Due in: Tuesday 28.3.17Phonics – oo is our phonic digraph this week. We say like an owl oo oo as makes 2 sounds.
Use this selection of letters and digraphs from your sound cards:
oo, oo, f, d, g, h, c, k, l, m, s, b, t
Please ask your parents to read these words aloud (no peeking) and use your sound cards to spell them out: food, good, hood, cook, look, fool, cool, moon soon, boot,
hoot, foot
Spelling words- Please practise writing each 5 times in your neatest handwriting:
English - Compound words are 2 words which go together to make one word. Circle the 2 pictures which make a compound word when added together.
Maths:How many different ways can you find to make 5? (e.g. 2+3 or 1+1+3) Try using toys to help you.

bow, crow, flow, glow, blow4 sounds: grown, flown, known, thrown, shown, yellow, window, pillow, below, arrow
Please ensure you are secure with 3 sound words first. How else can we make the ow/oa sound?
Spelling sentences - Please practise chosen sentences to write out in our test next week:
