SHOW RUN TIME (Required)

The Orlando Fringe has a strict policy regarding show length during the Festival. The running time of your show begins when the pre-show announcement ends and your first cue happens. Official Fringe time is determined by your Venue Tech’s official Fringe clock. If your show goes over your allotted show time, your Venue Tech will bring up the house lights and end the show. If it happens more than once, you will be assessed a $50 fine per occurrence.Shows with running times listed at or below 60 minutes will not be charged Run Time fees. An additional Run Time Fee will apply for shows listed as 65-90 minutes. The fee is based on the actual length you decide on this application and the Venue Tier you wish to be placed in. Running time for any show in a Tier III Venue is a maximum 60 minutes. Show times are listed in 5 minute increments (i.e., if your show is 63 minutes, either cut it down to under 60, or list as 65 minutes and pay the additional fee). Your tech rehearsal time will be determined by the length of your show, not the venue. All 60 minute shows will be given 3 hours of tech time, 65-75 minute shows will have a 4 hour tech, and 80-90 minute shows will receive a 5 hour tech time. Run time will also impact your Venue placement. Fringe strongly encourages your Fringe show to be 60 minutes or less; we cannot accept any show longer than 90 minutes. Rates by Tier are as follows:

Tier I: 65-75min, $200 / 80-90min, $400

Tier II: 65-75min, $100 / 80-90min, $200

Please select your running time with care. The maximum length you enter on this application is final, you may DECREASE your run time by emailing [email protected] before January 1st 2014.

21. Running Time of Your Show:

OUTDOOR STAGE (required)

The Outdoor Stage is FREE to the public. Performances on the Outdoor Stage are NOT ticketed; consequently, artists will not be paid for these performances. Outdoor stage shows run during the evenings of the Festival. An Outdoor Stage performance will NOT conflict with any of your scheduled show times. Artists scheduled on the Outdoor Stage will be contacted by the Outdoor Stage Producer to configure specifics.

22a. Do you wish to perform on the free outdoor stage?

22b. If so, what will you be performing?

22c. What is the show length?

SchedulingThe Orlando Fringe will provide you with your show schedule by no later than March 15, 2014. Each group will receive a variety of show times, including peak and off-peak times. Fringe makes no scheduling accommodations for artists doing multiple shows. It is important that your company is available during the operating hours of Fringe without conflicts. Weekday performances will begin as early as 5:00 PM or as late as Midnight. Weekend performances will begin as early as 11 AM or as late as Midnight. UNDERSTANDING THE LOTTERY ALL fees are due with application, not just the application fee. There is a $25 application fee – it is

included in the prices listed under the tier descriptions. This $25 fee is non-refundable, and will be deducted automatically from your refund should you not be accepted through the lottery.

You are applying to be a part of the 2014 Fringe and are choosing your VENUE TIER and paying the fees associated with that tier. Tiers are further defined in the following section. They are based on seating capacity of the venues. ALL applicants will be entered into a TIER lottery, with adherence to the following geographically tiered quotas:o 50% of the slots are reserved for local companies (companies within Central Florida)o 25% for national (companies applying from outside Central Florida, but within the US)o 25% for international (outside the United States).o Should the national/international quotas not be met, local groups will fill remaining slots.

Applicants are first drawn in association with their geographical area for each Tier, until quota is reached or there are no more applications.

Where you are selected in the lottery, along with your venue preference, run time, technical requirements, and venue restrictions will all be factored into your venue placement.

If you do not wish to be placed in a specific venue, then you may state that on your application, and you will not be considered for that venue. Be aware that if you are drawn late in the tier lottery, this could push you to the wait list.

The waitlist order is determined by order drawn in original lottery; number/ranking on the waitlist is assigned in the order placed on waitlist.

The lottery is scheduled for December 2nd, 2013, 5 PM at a location to be announced. Lottery is open to the public, and results will stream in real time on Twitter and Facebook.

Fringe staff will make every effort to accommodate as many groups as possible into the Festival. Should a group not get into their desired tier but does get into the Festival; those groups will either be invoiced or reimbursed the difference in price. Should your group not get into the Festival, and do not wish to remain on the waitlist, you will be given 100% of your money back, minus the $25 application fee.

Waitlisted groups may remove themselves at anytime up to the Festival’s start date and receive 100% of their money back - minus the $25 application fee.

All applications received later than November 15th, 2013 at 5 PM, EST are automatically placed at the bottom of the waitlist.

TIERS, VENUES & SEAT CAPACITY/FEES All venues are located in Loch Haven Park and Ivanhoe Village in four separate facilities, but are within

walking distance of each other. There is a Box Office in each facility – with a total of 4 full Box Offices (they can sell tickets to any

Festival show; buttons can also be purchased at any Box Office). Tickets are available for purchase at all Fringe Box Offices during the 14-day Festival or online at

orlandofringe.org, starting April 14, 2014.When making tier choices, please know that the lottery will play a large part in which venue you are placed in, and Fringe will do its best to accommodate your requests. The Orlando Fringe is fortunate to know its venues at the time of applications. The number of seats in your venue determines, in part, what your application fee is. Fringe has a variety of venues ranging in size, seat capacity, amenities, and layout. Please note that 5% of all houses are reserved for your comp list; an additional 5% are reserved for Volunteers using Fringe Bucks and Super Pass holders. That means 90% of the total house is for sale (so a 320 seat Venue has only 288 tickets for sale). The comp policy can be found in more detail

REVIEW OF GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION CHECKLIST BY SUBMITTING & SIGNING THIS APPLICATION, YOU HAVE AGREED TO ALL THE TERMS AND

CONDITIONS LISTED, YOU AGREE TO THE PAYMENT, AND YOU AGREE TO THE DEADLINES. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS MADE.

By signing this application, you are entering a contract with the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival stating that you understand and accept the rules and guidelines of the Orlando Fringe.

You may not submit more than one show in Orlando Fringe. Regardless of lottery results, there is a $25 non-refundable application/processing fee to

apply. This fee is already built in to the Venue costs. DO NOT add it to your total. Groups must pay for all application and seat capacity fees at the time of applying. Any application not paid in full will be considered pending and will not be included in the lottery without

full payment. For early-bird discount: full payment MUST be received by 09/15/2013, 5 PM EST, to be eligible for the discount.

If you need to withdraw from the Festival prior to January 1, 2014, the Orlando Fringe will refund the full amount of your application less the $25 application/processing fee.

NO REFUNDS will be issued if you need to withdraw after January 1, 2014, unless it is due to death, health, or visa/customs issues, and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Under no circumstances may any group sell their Orlando Fringe slot. All applicants must go through the Orlando Fringe office to apply. We maintain a waitlist to fill empty slots.

You may withdraw from the waitlist at any time and receive a full refund (less the $25 application/ processing fee).

All refunds are issued via check, no matter what method of payment is used. Orlando Fringe artists picked for the Festival are determined by a fair and random Lottery. Groups may NOT increase their show length/running times. Shows cannot exceed 60 or 90 minutes,

depending on venue secured – note that the time you have listed on this application is the MAXIMUM time allowed for your show.

Groups are subject to a $50 administrative fee for the following offenses: Placing posters in unauthorized locations, entering the dressing area or stage before scheduled/allowed times, leaving props/sets/costumes behind after the Festival, not holding to load-in/load-out times, leaving messes in the green rooms, and shows running over time more than once.

a $25 administrative fee for late submissions of their Tech Form. Artist groups are responsible for securing all rights, royalties, copyrights, and union waivers for

published works or Equity actors. Groups are responsible for proving a copy of these rights, royalties, and list of all Equity actors in the show no later than March 1st, 2014 to [email protected]

Fringe guarantees no scheduling accommodations for actors. First time local groups are required to have representation at the 2014 Artist Conference to be a part of

Fringe. Veteran groups are also encouraged to attend. We will discuss policies and procedures, especially any that have changed. The artist conference will be scheduled in January 2014.

National/International Groups will receive a 30-minute phone conference with the Producer in January 2014 to serve as their Artist Conference.

Orlando Fringe logo must be present on all posters, handbills, and programs for each group. The maximum ticket price for each show is $11.00; Groups may choose a $2.00 discount on tickets. There is a $1.00 - $1.25 surcharge on every ticket sold. This money pays for the ticketing system. The

artists do not pay this as Fringe returns 100% of ticket sales back to the artists; however, please inform your patrons.
