1. Fixture for replacing connecting rod needle roller bearing in compressors /expressors:

There are a quite few cases of dropping of needle roller bearing of the connecting rod in compressors/expressors of diesel locos. To replace these defective bearings (no. BR 283720 for ALCO locos & NCS 2420A for EMD locos) the connecting rod has to be removed out of the unit. This requires more manpower apart from loco down time.The shed has developed a fixture to replace such defective needle roller bearings without dismantling the connecting rod.Using this fixture needle roller bearing can be removed and inserted easily without any damages to the bearing. This will reduces the manpower and the time for the replacement of needle roller bearing.
