EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 16-22 SEPTEMBER 2016

Let’s Go Lerwick!Step Count Challenge

Let’s Go Lerwick! is a partnership between Living Lerwick Ltd, Shetland Islands Council and NHS Shetland aimed at those who live and work in Lerwick but choose to use their car as their mode of transport to get to and from work. The project is one of several initiatives that are happening in Shetland and are funded by European Mobility Week.

We are looking for staff from SIC, NHS Shetland and the Living Lerwick Business Community who wish to participate in a team of 5 and take up the challenge of recording their daily steps during European Mobility Week 16-22 September 2016.

Participants can submit their own team of 5, or can register as an individual and we will place you in a team where possible.

Each participant will be given a physical activity tracker/pedometer wristband (subject to availability), and asked to record their steps each day and score additional points for using public transport or cycling. (Points are awarded for using public transport as one of the initiatives around European Mobility Week is the promotion of smart and sustainable transport.)

Each team will appoint a Team Captain who will gather the steps, bus trips (commuting only!) and cycling info each day from the team members and submit them to the Step Count Challenge Administrators.

Participants will be given out to participants on a first come, first served basis. If more entries are received after the wristbands have all been distributed, those participants will be required to source their own pedometer device to count steps – SO REGISTER YOUR TEAM ASAP (by Mon 12th September at the latest)!!
