Systemic Engagement and Practice with Young People in Care

Facilitators: Helen Stead and Rupert Wilkinson

Helen is a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist and Rupert is a Therapeutic Social Worker. Together they worked in a specialist CAMHS team in Stoke for looked after children and their networks of care. They are now both retired from full time practice.

This presentation will explore two different ways in which they successfully engaged young people, including the results of an evaluative interview with one young man after the intervention ended, highlighting his thoughts about engaging in therapy. Participants will also be invited to share ideas and experiences.
