Communications Coordinator

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Communications Coordinator provides support to the marketing and communications activities of the Council. In this role, the Communications Coordinator:

Contributes to the implementation of the marketing and communications activities that support all Council projects and program.

Contributes to the implementation of the marketing and communications activities that build awareness the Council and its goals and objectives.

As part of the marketing and communication team, participates in building awareness of the Council, engagement of stakeholders and uptake of Council programs.

Responsibilities:

Writes short news articles, web-copy, reports, marketing materials, blog posts, etc. with direction from SME

Proofreads, logic checks and edits reports, articles, etc. in both official languages (French and English)

Coordinates the production (editing, translation, design) and printing of marketing and communications materials (MiHR’s printed and electronic publications, tool kits, labour market and research reports, articles, brochures, newsletters, infographics etc.

Maintains and updates all MiHR’s websites, produces reports on website performance using analytics and makes changes to all MiHR’s websites to improve performance

In-house expert in using MiHR’s web-site content management system Supports MiHR events through social media promotion and outreach, and by providing guidance

on marketing materials Creates (with direction from SME), monitors, and responds to MiHR’s blogs and other social

media (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn) Maintains press book and monitors MiHR media hits Works collaboratively with the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications, in integrated

marketing campaign execution and dissemination of MiHR products, information and research Assists Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications with business development activities:

global pipeline development and maintenance / appointment setting / research / outreach materials preparation

Researches speakership and media opportunities and maintains content calendar Creates (with direction from SME) and edits presentations in PowerPoint Make presentations and attends events and trade shows as required Organizes, produces and promotes online events, such as webinars Researches stakeholders and prospects for programs and events to expand MiHR’s network

Education/Experience:

Diploma in Business Administration with a concentration in Communications, or equivalent Two years of experience working in communications Strong coordination, communication, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills Computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet

research Bilingual (French and English) would be considered an asset Basic web-site maintenance experience is considered an asset Strong ability to take initiative

Compensation:

$43,000 to $48,000 per annum Excellent Group Benefits & GRSP program
