The Consequences of Casual Conduct: God Judges Jerusalem...and ChristiansPastor Tim JohnsonPrayer and Scripture- Elder Andy Carroll

Isaiah 59:2 (ESV)“but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.”

MEMORY VERSE:

Digging Deeper:

1. Can you recall consequences that you experienced in your life that were a result of sinning against God? 2. Are you absolutely convinced and persuaded that all of your sins are removed from your account? Explain. Can you cite a verse to support your answer?3. What one thing from today's message most impacted you?

Power Cannot Hide Sin in Jerusalem

1. Jerusalem and Temple Destroyed by the Babylonians – 586 BC

2. Jerusalem and Temple Restored in 516 BC

3. Jerusalem Independent for the First Time in Over 400 Years – 165 BC

4. Jerusalem and Temple Destroyed in 70 AD by the Romans

5. Jerusalem Becomes a Secular City as Jews are Removed – 135 AD

Conclusion – God is Seemingly Absent from Jerusalem
