Hello Parents,

This week we have:

RECEPTION:* Written and illustrated our news.* Had a go at lists and sentences.* Looked at teen numbers.* Thought about counting in 2s.* Finished off our special surprise for Mother's day.* Made some pirate treasure maps, and had a go at reading simple coordinates.* Had a go at finding and making 3D shapes.* Written our name lots of times on WORD, changing the font each time.

PRESCHOOL:* Told and illustrated our news.* Looked at s a c t p i n and things beginning with them.* Matched quantities to their numeral.* Matched patterns.* Threaded pipe cleaners and paper clips.

EVERYONE:* Handwriting gym and practise session.* Looked at signs of Spring.* Looked at lots of different maps, real and fantasy (Google earth, world map, road atlas, picture map, pirate treasure map, plan of school, map of Blackpool zoo etc.)* Made a giant 3D map, and had a go at being cartographers drawing it up accurately.* Made some daffodils following instructions ready for Mother's Day (preschool) Easter Service ( Reception).

NEXT WEEK:* On Friday there is no certificate assembly as the Easter Service will take place in the morning.Reception children should be brought to St. Helens Church for 8.50am, bus children will be dropped there, breakfast club will be walked down. After the service, the children will walk back to school together.Preschool children should be dropped at school as usual.This day is also Rainbow Day, so children should come in non-uniform, ideally wearing a little of their team colour.
