    May Membership Minutes

    The meeting was called to order at 1900 hours by President Marolf with a pledge of allegiance

    moment of silence observed for POW/MIA and those still serving in harms way for our nation. O

    present Vice-President Granbois, Treasurer Hansen, and Secretary Lavelle. Members went throu

    introduction period as is our practice and guests were introduced. The minutes of the April m

    were accepted as published in the newsletter. Harold Hansen presented information to the chap

    the financial status of the chapter. Larry Witt informed the members that we are currently a

    members. Larry Witt presented three $500 scholarships to Amanda Kindred, Tyler Konrardy, a

    the son of member Chuck Morel. We learned that Craig Norris is on the transplant list and is wo

    half time. The chapter donated $50 in memory of John Hernstrom, who will be buried at the

    Island National Cemetery with full honors by the U.S. Marines. The newly elected officers and bo

    directors were sworn in by Past President Ron Sebastian. The current time for claims to be comp

    in Iowa using the 526 EZ form is now down to 85 days according to ourVSO group. We will add

    Stoudt as a VSO soon. The State Council meeting is June 8th at the Iowa City VA Hospital. The a

    chapter Orange Clover Sale is set for June 21, 22, and 23rd and members are strongly encoura

    participate in this fund raiser. On August 25th the chapter will again host a family picnic for the

    Iowa National Guard and at that time we hope to attract some associate members to the ch

    During the June meeting we will be establishing new committees and seeking committee chairpefor these groups. Art Heyderman is organizing a dinner get together at Pastuers in Moline for Jun

    The next Honor Flight of the Quad Cities will have up to 60 Vietnam Veterans as guardians

    Marine Corps League will host an SOS dinner at American Legion Post 26 on June 29th from 5:3

    7:00. There will also be an auction. Minutes submitted by John Lavelle, chapter secretary.

    Ron Sebastian, a past-president of the chapter gave the oath of office to the nelected President Greg Paulline, Vice-President Roger Granbois, Treasurer C

    Morel, and Secretary John Lavelle. He also swore in the new Board of DirecLarry Witt, Harold Hansen, David Woods, Lyle Peterson, and Ed Gaudet.Marlene Marolf receiveschapter jacket for heservice as President.
