Job Title

Given the oversupply and speculation in Vietnam’s solar market, Vietnam Solar Energy Summit 2017 was held on 26-27 October in Ho Chi Minh City to help developers and investors select qualified proj-ects that are bankable and cost competitive to be awarded PPAs, and are committed to be online before June 2019.

As of October 2017, according to our back-of-the-en-velope calculation, there were already more than 15 GW of projects in various stages of development mainly in the central and southern provinces of Viet-nam, while the government set a clean energy master plan with only 850 MW for solar by 2020.

One of the VSES 2017 highlights was the Project Match-making Forum, which was a platform traditionally offered by Neoventure. It provided an ideal opportunity for project owners, spon-sors, and other potential partners to host one-on-one discussion for potential cooperation to kick-start the development of a project.

The forum was held in the form of one-to-one meetings between local developers and interna-tional investors & contractors. 15 local developers were present in the VSES 2017 Project Match-making Forum with 30+ project investment opportunities revealed.
