Dear Lee, Thank you for your letter. I am glad to hear that you often go to the city center with your friends to relax every weekend.

I am living in the city center, so there are different activities for me to do at weekends. For example, I can go to recreation centers to enjoy different kinds of games. I can also go to gyms to play exercises or go to night clubs to dance. However, going shopping is my favorite thing to do when having free time at weekends. That is the time when I can buy a lot of things for my family and me. The items that I usually buy are various in

forms. First of all, they are different kinds of foods which can be stored to be eaten in the whole week. Besides that, I like going shopping for clothes to make me become more beautiful and attractive. I also need to buy the things which are necessary for my children and me to use during the week. They are stationery items such as pens, pencils, notebooks, paper, etc. It is really easy for me to buy what I need from one place.

I believe that both of us like going shopping. I hope that we will be able to have opportunities to shopping together to get more fun in life. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

By the way, I am proud to tell you something about an important celebration in my country. The Independence Day is the special day that everyone in my country celebrates. That is the time when we have a day off to enjoy different activities. Usually, we attend a celebration to remember the day when our country became independent. On that day, most of us organize party to enjoy delicious food and strong drink with our friends. At night, we go out to watch fireworks on the sky. In your next letter, please tell me all about your favourite TV programme. Why do you like watching it? What’s it about?

Now write a letter in English, answering Peter’s questions.

(IMPORTANT: You should write the letter in around 100-120 words. When necessary, USE the imagined name (i.e. either Joe or Jane), but DO NOT USE your real name in your letter.)

Dear Peter, I am very glad to receive your letter in which you told me about your favorite TV program in the evening. Like you, I also like watching TV. There are a lot of programs on TV; however, my favorite one is the children’s program. I like watching the children’s program because of a lot of good things for all members in my family. First of all, this is really good for me to educate my children when turning the TV on. In other words, my sons can learn a lot of things from the content of the cartoon films. They know a lot of new things in life and easily learn the ways to behave with others in family and society. In addition, the cartoons in the program are usually colorful. This helps my children laugh and have funny time at home, which is necessary for their health. This program also helps my sons have opportunities to imitate and enjoy a lot of children’s songs. Finally, this program helps the parent like me know a lot about the psychology of the children. This is also the time for our family to get together every night to share a lot of things in life.

All in all, the children’s program on TV is my favorite one. Thanks to that, we can easily form a happy family. Why don’t you try watching the children’s program on TV? I am sure you will like it. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely, Joe
