Key Features and Benefits

Standard disk drives "lose" bits regularly, and typical RAID controllers perform checksums on intitial writing of data, but are well known for "bit-rot." Verde's ZFS implementation verifies checksums on every access and corrects and rebuilds errors when found from parity. The SHA-256 bit checksum detects and corrects data problems. Verde's undetected bit error rate is almost unmeasurable – our current estimate is 1 bit in 1067.
