The Value of Engagement – the art of the Preview
Challenge: Voiceover Costs are high. ANY re-records can increase the total cost per podcast by almost 100%. Re-records can also cause scheduling
delays.
Solution: ENGAGE the Reviewers early and at Key points during the process. In this case the subsidiary reviewers were engaged on a Global
Kickoff call before the translations began to accept reviewer role and also ACTIVELY request podcasts to be localized for their market. They were ENGAGED in reviewer role with Script review, before VO began to get
signoff on translation.
Result: At the end of this process, we had ZERO re-records, resulting in NO ADDITIONAL costs and 100% on-time delivery.
OuttakeOne lesson we learned from early experience
and reshot for future performances:
1 – always allow an extra day for production and transition. Early on, we told the field we would have podcasts the day
after Delivery to Microsoft. With large video files, it can take time to transfer. As a team, we were up until 11 PM, trying
to hit the European morning delivery.
