Obtaining system information wherever and wheneverThe Global Remote Management system is able to send alarms, warnings and system status reports to cellular phones via text messages (SMS). It can also log data from Victron Battery Monitors, Multi’s, Quattro’s and Inverters to a website through a GPRS connection. The usage of this website is free of charge.
Closely monitoring your remote system 24/7 will improve reliability and will give you the change to act when needed. This prevents system breakdowns and will improve efficiency.
Simple and easy to useThe idea is simple: you can use it to get SMS alarms from a Multi, true VE.Bus from Battery Monitoring System, or both. When monitoring the usage of batteries, it can be extremely helpful to receive under and overvoltage alarms; whenever they should occur. For this purpose, the Global Remote Management system is perfect. A prepaid SIM-card (for example) in combination with the Global Remote allows you to control and lock all essentials from the remote installation in real time.
ConnectivityThe Victron Global Remote unit has one connection for a VE.Bus. This can be hooked up with either a Multi, Quattro or an Inverter system. This connection needs a special converter which is supplied with the VGR. The other connec-tion is to connect a Battery Monitor. For example to connect it to a BMV-602 you will need the BMV-602 Datalink. This Datalink needs to be purchased separately. Installing and configuration is simple and can be done by people who don’t have any experience.
Monitoring historic dataTaking it one step further, an internet connection is all you need to view all data online. You can simply create an ac-count free of charge on the website, and add as many Victron Global Remote units as needed. Subsequently you can configure it in such a way, which will enable you to monitor the historic data. All of this data is graphed and available in daily, weekly and monthly timeframes. This will provide several basic property’s such as voltages, power levels and system status information.
