ii. He made them in His own image

    GODS ORIGINAL PLAN FOR MAN

Genesis 1:26-28 (KJV)26 And God said, Let us make man in our image,

after our likeness: and let them have dominion over

the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, andover the cattle, and over all the earth, and over

every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the

image of God created he him; male and female

    GODS ORIGINAL PLAN FOR MAN

    1. GOD ,who is King of Kings, rules in theheavens

    2. The original purpose an plan of God is to have a

family of sons who would rule like Him. (Rom8:28; Gen 1:26-28).

    3. How is he going to achieve this? Matt 6:9

He designed to do this by giving His sons a place to

    rule (earth)

He would extended His heavenly Kingdom on earth

    through His sons

Thus His sons would rule as kings just as HimselfPrepared by Shena La Foucade

GODS ORIGINAL PLAN FOR MAN3. How does GOD rule?

By His Word, Heb. 1.3; Gen.1

Therefore His sons would rule by their words

    Mk. 11.23; Mt. 18.18; Prov. 18.21

    4. We rule based on If we live as sons

    If we speak like God

Therefore the Kingdom of heaven would be extended onearth through Gods sons who rule on the earth

These sons receive power to rule on the earth only as

they share the image, i.e., the nature and likeness of JesusPrepared by Shena La Foucade

    What are Temptations? Definition

Temptation is the enticement to do evilSatan is the tempter (Matt 4:3 ; 1Thess. 3:5)

    Matthew 4:3 (KJV)3

And when the tempter came to him, he said, Ifthou be the Son of God, command that these stones

    be made bread.

1 Thessalonians 3:5 (KJV)5 For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I

sent to know your faith, lest by some means the

tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in

    vain.Prepared by Shena La Foucade

    What are Temptations?

    Examples

Beginning with Eve, Satan successfully tempted Adam,

Cain ,Abraham and David to sin.

He tempted Job but was less successful.

Job 1:22 (KJV)22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Jesus was also tested and tempted in every way as we

are, yet he was without sin. (Heb 4:15)

Hebrews 4:15 (KJV)15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched

with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points

tempted like as we are, yetwithout sin.

What are Temptations? Joseph is a perfect example of what we should do

when we are face with temptation?

He made a profound statement to Potiphars wife in

    Gen 39:9 (b)

how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against

    God?

Temptations may be for the purpose of destroying a

person through sin leading to death

    This is Satans intent

God may allow testing for the purpose of bringing

forth faith, patience, which ultimately honours Him,

as in the case with Job.Prepared by Shena La Foucade

    What are Temptations?

Source of temptation - James 1:12-15 (KJV)12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for

when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life,

which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

13Let no man say when he is tempted, I am temptedof God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither

    tempteth he any man:14

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn awayof his own lust, and enticed.15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth

sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth

    death.Prepared by Shena La Foucade

    What are Temptations?

James first explains that a blessings awaits the one

    who endures temptation. (vs.12)

He then explains that God cannot be tempted by evil

and does not tempt anyone. (vs. 13)

James then describes the mechanism of temptation

Vs.14 Each person is tempted when he is drawn

away and enticed by his own evil desires

The origin of temptation is attributed to fallen

    human nature. (Rom. 6:6; Eph. 4:22; Col. 3:9; 2

Cor. 5:17)Prepared by Shena La Foucade

    What are Temptations?

However God does not desire, His sons to be

ensnared by evil, but to overcome evil with good

Romans 12:21 (KJV)21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Next , James uses a metaphor, that of a womanbearing children to paint a picture.

Vs. 15once a person has been drawn away by his

own desire, desire becomes pregnant and gives birthto sin.

Temptation is not sin, but yielding to temptation is

    What are Temptations?

Vs.15, when the full cycle is completed it brings

    forth death.

For the unbeliever spiritual death is to be separated

from GOD forever in the lake of fire. (Rev 20: 10,

    15)

For the believer, sin that brings death may mean

that he or she is disciplined by dying early. (Acts

    5:1-5; 1Jhn 5: 16-17; Gal 6;8)

    What are Temptations?

God promises a way of escape 1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such

as is common to man: but God is faithful, whowill not suffer you to be tempted above that ye

are able; but will with the temptation also make

a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Is it possible to Stop Sinning?

YES it is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gods requirement

Matthew 5:48 (KJV)48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in

    heaven is perfect.

The perfection demanded of sons is a state of

    spiritual maturity and completeness.

Jesus was commanding His followers to strivetowards a state of moral and spiritual Godlikeness in

    their lives.

Is it possible to Stop Sinning?

Noah and Job were characterised as perfect men.

Genesis 6:9 (KJV)9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just

man andperfect in his generations, andNoah walked

    with God.Job 1:1 (KJV)

1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was

Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that

    feared God, and eschewed evil.

    Job 1:8; 2:3; 8:20;

Even though Job was perfect he had issues with his

mouth, hence perfection is completeness, maturity.Prepared by Shena La Foucade

Is it possible to Stop Sinning?

In the Sermon on the Mount (Matt 5 ) Jesus was

encouraging His disciples to love their enemies in

the same way that God loved them. (Matt 5: 44)

By so doing they were demonstrating the perfection

    or maturity that He desired.

Because of sin within the world, Christians will only

realize true perfection in heaven, but the

exhortations given in Scripture encourage all to

continue to strive towards it in this life.

Is it possible to Stop Sinning?

    Our experience

1 John 2:1-2 (KJV)1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye

sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with

the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours

only, but also for the sins ofthe whole world.

We have also have weaknesses that may cause us to

    sin.Philippians 2:12

We have to also lay aside every besetting sin.
