Page 2: Victory in Jesus

I heard an old, old story,how a Savior

came from glory,How He gave His life

on Calvaryto save a wretch like me;

Page 3: Victory in Jesus

I heard about His groaning,

of His precious blood's atoning,Then I repented

of my sins;and won the victory.

Page 4: Victory in Jesus

O victory in Jesus,My Savior, forever!

He sought me and bought me

with His redeeming blood;

Page 5: Victory in Jesus

He loved me ere I knew Him,

and all my love is due Him,

He plunged me to victory,

beneath the cleansing flood.

Page 6: Victory in Jesus

I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power

revealing.How He made

the lame to walk againand caused

the blind to see;

Page 7: Victory in Jesus

And then I cried, "Dear Jesus,

come and heal my broken spirit,"

And somehow Jesus came and broughtto me the victory.

Page 8: Victory in Jesus

O victory in Jesus,my Savior, forever.

He sought me and bought me

with His redeeming blood;

Page 9: Victory in Jesus

He loved me ere I knew Him,

and all my love is due Him,

He plunged me to victory,

beneath the cleansing flood.

Page 10: Victory in Jesus

I heard about a mansion

He has built for me in glory,

And I heard about the streets of gold

beyond the crystal sea;

Page 11: Victory in Jesus

About the angels singing

and the old redemption story,

And some sweet day I'll sing up there

the song of victory.

Page 12: Victory in Jesus

O victory in Jesus,My Savior, forever!

He sought me and bought me

with His redeeming blood;

Philippians 4:4-74 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

We gather togetherTheodore Baker, 1894

Hymnal page 387

Page 19: Victory in Jesus

We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing;

He chastens and hastens His will to make known.

The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing.

Sing praises to His Name; He forgets not His own.

Page 20: Victory in Jesus

Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining,Ordaining, maintaining

His kingdom divine;So from the beginning the

fight we were winning;Thou, Lord, was at our side, all glory be Thine.

Page 21: Victory in Jesus

We all do extol Thee, Thou leader triumphant,

And pray that Thou still our defender will be.

Let Thy congregation escape tribulation;

Thy name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!

COME, YE THANKFUL PEOPLE, COME

Hymnal number 392

Page 24: Victory in Jesus

Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of

harvest home;All is safely gathered in,

Ere the winter storms begin:God, our Maker, doth provide For our wants to be supplied;Come to God’s own temple,

come, Raise the song of harvest home.

Page 25: Victory in Jesus

All the world is God’s own field,

Fruit unto His praise to yield;Wheat and tares together

sown Unto joy or sorrow grown.

First the blade and then the ear,

then the full corn shall appear;

Lord of harvest, grant that we

Wholesome grain and pure may be.

Page 26: Victory in Jesus

For the Lord our God shall come,

and shall take His harvest home;

From His field shall in that day

all offenses purge away,Give His angels charge at

last in the fire the tares to cast;But the fruitful ears to store

in His garner evermore.

Page 27: Victory in Jesus

Even so, Lord, quickly come, To Thy final harvest home;

Gather Thou Thy people in, free from sorrow, free from

sin,There, forever purified,

in Thy presence to abide;Come, with all Thine angels

come, raise the glorious harvest

home.
